This is a great driver's car - I've recommissioned it over the last year or so, and Paul Anderson at 928 specialists has done all the work.

The story is that it was offered to Paul as a ‘barn find', but he subsequently sold it to a chap (who had the sills done, cambelt and new radiator) prior to selling it to me in Nov 19.

I then gave it back to Paul who replaced the fuel tank and a new cradle, rebuild the brake callipers, brake flex cables, rebuild gearbox (synco's etc replaced), new discs, anti-roll bars, new shocks , wiper motor, fixed leaking sump gasket , new Porsche engine mounts (v expensive but excellent) , gts gear stick etc. Plus loads of work to make it run at it should (so loads of new parts).

I've put a set of 944 turbo tele dials on it (refurbished which have a wider rear stance - hard to get hold of) to give it a better look. However, I have the originals as well, and a set of sports seats (which I have now removed from the car, as they are not original).

The interior is excellent, and the body work all super solid (the radio and amp are not included though). I have all the invoices- which add up to a lot!

So, it runs and drives really well, but the paintwork is pretty poor (the body is solid though)! My original plan was to make a pristine car, but my plans have changed so it's time to sell.

The odometer reads 87k as Paul changed it as the fuel gauge didn't work, however the one that was taken out read ~92k. Unfortunately, the odometer stopped working and I didn't notice so the latest MOT (Nov 21) also reads 87k a year on, although I have only done 500 m or so – it is an easy fix apparently, but Paul can't get hold of the little gears that need replacing to make it work.

Looking back at the MOTs, in Sept 2019 it was 92k, but the previous MOT (Nov 2017) it was also 92k. This suggests it was not moving (and when I got it the gearbox was 'shot' so it was extremely hard to drive – which supports the idea of it being 'immobile').

So good points

·      The mechanicals are excellent, and it is tight and fresh (with a rebuilt gear box)

·      The underside is excellent, including many suspension parts replaces, stops and steers as it ought

·      It drives well and has 12 months MOT (2 small advisories being fixed next week)

Bad points

·      Poor paint

·      Broken odometer!

This is a really sorted manual s2 which you can jump in and drive! Please give me a call if you'd like to know more
