Jaguar XJ6 3.4 Auto SIII 1986Registered in October 1986 on D registration this one of the very last 6 cylinder cars. Being an ‘86 model year it has Houndstooth Tweed rather than velour,wood fillets in the doors (usually Sovereign spec +) and rear head rests, although these are are in the boot as they've faded.The previous owner restored the car including rust treatment, under seal and a full repaint in it original Metallic Steel Blue, a super rare colour now and it looks stunning. Really suits the shape.  Much work has been done including:New discs and pads all round (the rears are inboard so cost a lot to have done)New Pirelli P4000's tyres x4New headlinerNew carpet setNew fuel pumpsNew tank senderNew batteryNew windscreenNew wipersEarlier in the year I had the carb's sorted out/balanced/set up at well know E Type specialist (as they really know SU carbs and setting them up properly is dark art). One their recommendation I also had electronic ignition fitted, a new petrol tank sender and gearbox and suspension mounts replaced, all at a cost of £2000. It was worth every penny, it now drives like new. Really puts a smile on your face on twisty A roads, goes really well and “wafts” like a SIII should.Before me it had one lady owner for 27 years and 4 other owners before her. It was in storage for a long time. It's last MOT prior to the current one was in 2003 (@101k miles) so there is no VOSA MOT history. Its not another Japanese import either.It's done 102k miles and has an MOT until May 2022 with no advisories, which is rare for one of these.This particular XJ6 is probably a unique colour/spec, it really stands out in modern traffic and often gets compliments. If your mechanically minded it's also really easy to work on being the last Jag with no significant electronic's.Might take a cheaper part exchange.
