1976 Porsche 911 S Targa 2-Door 2.7L Guards red with black interior

1976 Porsche 911s Targa. This is a great little car that is very hard for me to part with. but I'm moving to a home where we have far less garage space. so 2 of 4 cars and a bunch of other stuff must go. Putting this kind of car in long-term storage for just the occasional fling would be a bit like putting down a healthy puppy.

I have owned the car for 4 years and replaced or upgraded several items. This has been a driver for me (a high quality driver). so it is not in show car condition. Over the last 3 years. I have changed the oil and filters regularly. replaced the fuel filter. replaced the fuel pump. replaced the plugs. replaced the cap and rotor. replaced the alternator. replaced the starter. replaced the external voltage regulator. replaced the clutch cable. added a CD player with detachable face and remote. plus upgraded the ignition box to an MSD along with a new coil. In addition. the car has 4 new tires with less than 2. 00 miles on them and a 2 yr old battery.
The prior owner had owned the car for 10+ yrs and during that time had the engine resealed. installed an external oil cooler. replaced the dash. recovered the Targa top. installed new carpet. installed fog lamps. upgraded the tail lamps. and added rear seat belts.

The exterior of the car looks great and turns heads wherever she goes. Up real close there are some dings and blemishes here and there. There is one small chip high in the windshield that was there when I bought it 4 yrs ago without any change in size. Also. the doors show imperfections down low on the doors from what appear previous door skin adds. The car was repainted around 2001 per the prior owner. It also has been fitted with an early Carrera tail.

Mechanically the car starts right up. runs very well after a brief warm-up period. and pulls hard through all gears. It has a small oil leak that improves with regular driving. though it has not changed over the last four driving seasons where I put 1-2 quarts in it at most over the entire 7 month Ohio driving season. As noted above. an oil cooler was added to the car. so the reserve capacity is much greater at approx 12 quarts. The heat exchangers are toast. though I have never driven it during the winter or even in really cold weather beyond the need for a portable plug-in heat source. This is a pretty small cockpit we are talking about here.

Included with the car will be a fitted CoverKing car cover. a fuel injection test meter for the CIS system on the car. and several small boxes of miscellaneous parts including new upper and lower gaskets. electrical components and relays. the replaced (and potentially rebuildable/sellable) alternator. fuel pump. old PermaTune ignition box. etc.

The free and clear title I have in my possession will be signed over to the new owner upon receipt of full payment.
