Oldsmobile Cutlass S Convertible with factory air, factory rally wheels, and power topI got this car a few months ago and the only thing I have done to it is clean up the title. It is a clear and clean Colorado title in my name. It was in storage in the previous owner's garage since 2005 without being driven. He took it to a local shop to have it worked on to sell it because he sold his house here. The shop put a new radiator, fuel pump and battery in it for him. I drove it a few times to town and a friend borrowed twice it to take his family cruising in a convertible. Less than 100 miles of use. It has a new tan convertible top with glass rear window. The top goes up and down as it should. Both sides raise and lower evenly without major imbalance. The interior is nice, probably new carpeting. Seats are decent. The cassette deck red light comes on but does not work. The front bench seat slide works on the driver side but doesn't slide on the passenger slide. The tires are BF Goodrich Radial TA's. They hold air well but are old and need replacing. There are two 245/60 14's, two 235/60 14's and the spare is a 225/70 14. This isn't a drag race car so I'm unsure why the different sizes. Even the spare is on an original factory rally wheel but the spare does not have a chrome trim ring. The paint is original and not in as good a shape as the pictures show. I do not see any evidence of repaint anywhere which is why I think the paint is all original . Because the paint is all original, I believe that the car has never been wrecked. A friend had a 1970 442 and it came with a cracked frame around the steering box. I learned that it is common for the frame to be cracked around the steering box so I checked the frame there before I bought the car. The frame on this car is not cracked. This Cutlass S has factory air conditioning. The previous owner said he took the V belt off of the compressor as it was a convertible and it doesn't get very hot here. All the AC parts seem to be there, minus the V belt. The door glasses work just fine. The quarter glasses will need new window regulators. In the pictures, the right side is stuck at the point where it transitions from going up to going forward to close completely. The left side goes up and down to the point of this transition. The windshield is cracked and will need to be replaced.Rust is just starting behind all four wheels. It isn't bad and it's not good either. It's like the car lived on a gravel road at some point and the sand blasting behind the wheels allowed rust to start.Exhaust is a single exhaust and it's a little loud for a single exhaust. I don't see any blue oil smoke but I haven't driven it enough to track oil consumption. The exhaust does smell like it's running a little rich on gas.I believe the previous owner when he said it was 118,000 miles and not 218,000 miles. Looking at the brake pedal cover, there is a little wear there, but not much. The odometer reads 18,000 and I think it has rolled once. The windshield wipers and lights all work. The gauges and speedometer work. The transmission fluid is pretty clean but it is probably old and should be replaced. I did not check the differential fluid. I live in a ski town and I don't have a garage to store the car so it is better to let the car go. I have a lot of other car projects as well, mostly Triumph cars so I don't have the time to treat this car right. Plus, the only two body shops in this town only do insurance work.If you have less than 10 feedback scores, please contact me before bidding. Local pick up only. I will help a transport driver with loading if it is to be shipped. I can pick up at the airport if buyer wishes to drive it home. I will try to answer any questions as best as I can. $500 due within 72 of close of auction. Balance before pickup. Sold as is, where is. Thank you for looking and considering this car.
