1971 Chevelle Malibu 400 Original 402 LS-3 / 400 turbo / 12 Bolt posi.

We have owned this chevelle for over fifteen years. This is a must see listing as it is very long now but I tried to included in most the important info but there is so much more.

Up for your consideration is a real treat for Chevelle lovers. It is a genuine 1971 Big Block 402 LS-3 that has been fully rotisserie restored with about 1500 miles since completion. With a show quality finish and monster 496 big block, the final product looks and performs better than it did off the showroom floor. You have the best of both worlds, restromod or original BB convertible. This car has a 496 installed but it also has it's ready to drop in rebuilt numbers matching engine. Complete with correct carb, dist, alt, starter and ceramic coated exhaust manifolds. The 400 turbo is numbers matching and the 12-bolt rear is also original. Have buildsheet. 

This car has about every option you could get on a chevelle, some options were added at time of restoration but are GM.

I also have the set of four 71 SS 15" wheels with NOS trim rings. 

This car was sold new at Williams and Swanson Chevrolet, was believed to be a Hertz rent A car.

This car received a high-quality full nut & bolt rotisserie restoration.

All brake cables. trans, brake, fuel lines are stainless. Headers and exhaust are stainless. All new Moog suspension parts. Hotchkis springs and Bilstein shocks. Harrison style Alumi-Tech Radiator.

The entire interior was redone with Legendary Auto Interior.

The factory air conditioning system was rebuilt and uses R134a refrigerant.

New correct convertible top cylinders and lines. 

The original brake booster was sent to be rebuilt & replated. The master cylinder and brake calipers were sent out, ceramic coated and stainless lined. Brake caliper brackets, dust shields, master cylinder lid were replated as was hood latch, hood hinges, hood post, hood pin nuts, original radiator cap, ect. Original items were replated not painted. Original style hoses and clamps.

 The car is finished in a beautiful black basecoat / clearcoat. It was professionally sprayed in a bake booth. To be clear it was a color change from Dark green. Original floors and trunk with GM NOS full convertible quarter panels being installed. GM hood, fenders, inner fenders, doors and trunk.         

The following is a small list of Nos parts. Hood pins, hood pin lanyards, wheel well moldings, convertible top weatherstrips, window sweeps, bezels, door handles, gaskets, switches, cowl actuator, relay, vacuum actuator, flow control valve, emblems, bezels, lens, taillights, housing and many more NOS parts.

The transmission is the numbers matching TH400 automatic with the six-disc forward performance clutch pack feeding a 2.73 posi 12-bolt rear end.

This Chevelle has so much going for it; a real Big Block, a complete nut & bolt restoration, and an impressive list of upgrades coupled with excellent looks, sound, and performance. With its 496 engine and other improvements, it makes for a Chevelle that not only screams “muscle car” but is also a thrill to drive.
