In 1964 Ford developed the “Cammer” motor in order to beat the Hemi motors of the Mopar teams in NASCAR racing.   Unfortunately. NASCAR President. Bill France  ruled the engine illegal and hence it was never used in NASCAR Racing.  
Developed form the legendary 427 High Riser Side Oiler Motor. nbsp; the “Cammer” came with either Single 4 Barrel or Dual 4 Barrel carburetion.   With the Dual 4 Barrel set-up. power was rated in excess of 650 bhp.
Only a couple of hundred “Cammer” motors were built due to the ban from NASCAR.   Most found their way into Drag racing. where they were very successful in the F/X Mustangs.   
Had this extraordinary engine not been banned from NASCAR Racing  it would have undoubtedly ended up in the 1964 Ford Galaxie.   T his vehicle is what the owner believes the car would have looked like. nbsp; similar to the previous year's model  but with 50% more power!!
