1989 BMW E30 Alpina C2 2.7 TOURING

Hi and welcome to the auction of one of my customer's rare Alpina Touring.

Apparently Alpina only converted 14 right hand drive E30 325i models and according to research by my customer only 6 of them are left in existence.

The upgrade on the standard 325i is. uprated and lowered suspension. full engine modifications to 2. 7 litres and around 200BHP. twin exhausts. uprated brakes. etc etc.

The car features on board computer. aftermarket face off Sony stereo CD player. electric front windows. factory electric steel sunroof. electric mirrors. Alpina alloys. with standard lockable hub caps. rear load cover. genuine Alpina front spoiler. side skirts and Alpina striping.

It also has standard headlamp wash wipe which of course doesn't work. did they ever from new?

Anyway the car has been through our workshops and has had some work done. There has been some welding done to the front floor. jacking points and a couple of bits under the front wings.

Numerous brake pipes have also been replaced. Both sides of the car and the bonnet have been painted mainly for scratches and stone chips. however the front spoiler was not painted having been a fairly recent replacement so this does have some slight crazing and some stone chips.

We have also fitted the new accurate replica striping to the sides and as you can see in the picture. at the time the driver's side wasn't completed. The wheels have been paint stripped and repainted and they are running fairly new Toyo's all with very good depth of tread.

As for the bits that need a little attention. you could include the headlamp wash wipe. but more importantly the driver's seat as pictured is showing signs of wear. the rear headlining over the load area is sagging as they do and the driver's door and door card has suffered from people closing the door and trapping the seat belt and that's about it. Something that is a little odd with the car is that the front passenger seat a standard item and not a Recaro like the drivers seat. I do not know why the seat is different. It is an exact colour/trim match and therefore is easy not to notice the difference between the seats.

The car drives really well with no knocks rattles or bangs and of course is quite fast. It's a nice example but with the little bits of work done. it could be a really nice example. A couple of items are non standard like the aftermarket exhaust system and regular 6 branch tubular manifold. although unlike the mainfold the exhaust system is a direct aftermarket replacement.  

This is a rare car and just like all the E30's they are increasing in value. but with only 6 of these left. it should be a good investment. It's build number is 7730. the owner has some paperwork to back up the car's originality and some history.

You are more than welcome to come and view the car and have a chat as the owner is realistic but won't give it away.

There isn't a buy it now price so please don't ask. I won't reveal the reserve either so again don't ask as it just wastes my time and yours !!
