CLASSIC JAGUAR 4.2 XJ6Historic vehicle requiring no MOT and free road tax, making this a very affordable car to own.Selling with the private number plate shown.This car has had no expense spared on the upkeep over the years and will be sold complete with bills for more than £15,000, including a full engine removal, strip down and rebuild in 2018/2019 with new pistons, replacement cylinder head for unleaded fuel, crank balance, etc. etc.The underside, sills and chassis have been treated with Waxoil in 2019 and are all in great rust free condition.The engine starts first time and runs silky smooth when warmed up, with well over 40 psi oil pressure all the time. No overheating issues, no leaks, knocks, or rattles. The axle and gearbox have also been maintained and are smooth and silent through the gears.Wheels and tyres (all matching with unused spare) are all in nice condition. Brakes have just had new pads fitted all round front and rear.Suspension joints have recently been checked and replaced where required with polybush mounts replacing the original rubber versions. New track rod ends, new rack bushes, new roll bar bushes and arb link bush kits fitted this summer (August 2021).The last MOT was carried out in July last year (July 2020) and a full garage MOT check was carried out in June this year, resulting in my request to renew all brakes, steering bushes, and any suspension components showing any sign of wear. This car is in excellent mechanical condition.At some point in the past the car had a full respray and the front wings and rear wheel arches were replaced, thereby removing the common Jaguar problem of rusty wheel arches full of filler. These arches are solid, as is the underside of the entire car. Whereas the car looks perfect from a few feet away, it would benefit from some paint repairs in some areas, as there are small micro blisters, chips and cracks in the paint which become apparent upon closer inspection, but look at the pictures, the car looks great.The leather interior is in generally good condition, the seats are big and comfortable, however, these too would benefit from a clean-up to improve.This car is in very good mechanical condition with a rust free body. It is reliable and can be used as a daily driver. Long distance trips are no problem and the car is entirely happy at motorway speeds and has no problem whatsoever in keeping up with modern day traffic. Just look, a red Jaguar that needs no money spending on it!!!!!This car is a classic which needs no money spent in order to enjoy it from day one.
