For sale due to change of circumstances: Ford Escort MK2 prepared to full Gp4 specification. with most parts required to finished requiring full assembly (the car has been "dummy assembled" just to take the photos but none of the parts are fitted properly yet.

SHELL. Immaculate 100% rot free. fully refurbished and prepared to full GP4 specification by renowned preparation specialists in UK. Recent expensive full repaint inside and out and has famous Eaton Yale/Castrol (Hannu Mikkola) colour scheme.

The car had been previously fitted with a Millington Diamond engine but is now ready to accept any engine (2. 0L Pinto engine included in sale price. see below for details).

Specification includes: tarmac alloy arches and front spoiler. full multipoint weld-in roll cage in T45 material with double door bars. roof brace. multiple floor pick-up points and bars through bulkhead to front turrets. 6 point rear axle location (4 link and Watts linkage) and round turrets. fully skidded. large gearbox. transmission and axle tunnel. strengthened bulkhead. double skinned front strut plates. modified radiator cut out to accept large radiator. sill jacking points. Gp4 sumpgaurd mounts. alloy tank mounting and dry sump tank brackets. Seat rails and seat belt fixings welded into floor. strengthened handbrake plate.

It has immaculate doors. fiberglass boot and bonnet. new laminated screen. full Perspex windows and new rubbers. steering column and deep-dish steering wheel. instrument panel. alloy fuel tank and filter king. alloy battery box in boot. double alloy spare wheel post. 4 off 7x13” Minilite alloy wheels and 4 Hella spotlights on quick release brackets.

The shell was built into a complete car and used on a handful of tarmac rallies before a change of plans caused it to be dismantled. It is now ready to be re-assembled using the parts included in this sale plus other parts which would need to be bought separately.

There is an English V5 and chassis tags with the car.

 SUSPENSION. Included in the sale is around 70% of the parts needed to complete the build including: World Cup X-Member. front struts (Bilstien coil-over with 370-70 short inserts). adjustable TCAs. compression struts. steering arms and 2. 5 turn rack. Rear 4 link bars.

 AXLE. Wide Atlas axle with 4 link brackets. turret brackets and spring saddles. The axle has a 3. 9 CWP and standard shafts.

 ENGINE. Ford 2. 0L Pinto with Cosworth steel crankshaft. Farndon steel con-rods. Mahle pistons. fully worked WILCOX cylinder head and FP300 camshaft with vernier pulley. Piper distributor with Lumention internals. Weber 45DCOE carbs. manifold and linkage (new 200 miles ago) PACE dry sump pump and sump pan. skeleton flywheel. AP Racing twin plate clutch and alloy bell-housing with concentric hydraulic release bearing.

OTHER: The following parts are also included in the sale: complete bias pedal box (new) and fluid bottles. full perspex window set and new laminated screen. alloy fuel tank. filter king regulator. quick release lamp brackets with 4 Hella lamps. front grill. mudflaps. bumpers (front and rear). rear lamps. headlights/bowls. steering column and new suede steering wheel. instrument panel. nbsp;

The engine has been used previously but has just been rebuilt with new bearings. rings and gaskets by a Pinto expert and is un-run since. Estimated 190BHP.

 PARTS REQUIRED TO FINISH: the major parts required to complete the car will depend on the final chosen specification but will include: gearbox and prop-shaft. axle internals. brakes. wiring. extinguishers. seats and belts. fuel pumps. The car is currently ready to build but needs a full nut and bolt assembly – all parts have been dummy-fitted but now require finishing. The most expensive and hard to find nuts and bolts are included in the sale.
