EQUIPMENT
Hard top. Soft top. Spare wheel. Automatic. Leather seats. 3rd seat. Becker radio.

EXTERIOR
This beautifully proportioned Pagoda is finished in a lovely metallic blue that has a deep shine and sets off the chrome details perfectly. The condition of the paint is good with only a few minor chips and imperfections. The chrome presents very well with only a little light patina to certain areas and a small dink on the rear bumper. Panel gaps are good and the doors. bonnet and boot. shut with that satisfying Mercedes clunk. All of the glass and rubber seals are in good shape as are both hard and soft top.

INTERIOR
A nice choice on this car is the soft cream leather seats that are surely the best combination with the metallic blue paint. It also benefits from having the optional 3rd seat in the back for that extra passenger. The car has a lovely used but well cared for quality and the leather remains supple and free from major wear or cracking as does the trim on the door cards and dash. The dashboard can only be described as art. with its stunning array of chrome dials and switches. and the distinctive Becker Grand Prix radio. The controls feel light but reassuringly well engineered.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The distinctive Mercedes-Benz chrome wheel trims are in excellent condition. free from any unsightly curb marks or damage. the only sign of age being a few chips in the blue paint. The wheels are all shod in a matching set of Vredestein tyres that all have over 6mm of tread remaining. These SL's are renowned for their excellent brakes and this example is no exception pulling the car up quickly in a straight line.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The engine bay is very presentable and the car still has the original sound insulation on the bulk head. It has spent its last 5 years at the owners holiday home in the south of France and they have been sure to keep it in top mechanical condition so its always ready to be driven when the sun is shining. On several occasions the car has made the drive back to the UK and on the whole has been serviced by the same Mercedes specialist in the UK. Recent work other than routine service work includes a new exhaust manifold. steering box and a reconditioned gearbox.

HISTORY FILE
The history file is excellent with a raft of service invoices showing regular annual servicing and lots of additional maintenance work going from the present day right back to 1980. Also included is a letter from one of the previous owners confirming the car was fully serviced and the mileage was genuine from when they bought the car in 1976 with 40k miles. To further confirm the mileage there are over 20 MOT certificates also going back to 1980.
