1930 Austin Seven Ulster Replica for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.15) based on 397 votes

This is an Austin 7 Ulster replica that I bought in the late ‘80s. The car is complete. although I took the head off 15 years ago and it has not been used since.

·         Registration Dec 1930

·         Chris Gould FIBREGLASS body with full wings. Paint is generally good. although with a few chips. Bonnet hinge bent as seen in the photos - I used it like this with a leather strap to keep it in place although it could do with some attention

·         Seats are trimmed in leatherette material

·         Radiator cowl is also glass fibre and is a bit cracked. An original shell for restoration will be included with the car.

·         The engine was built by the Austineers in the 1980s. The exact spec is unknown - I don't think it is that sporty - but it has some good parts: a proper downdraught Zenith carb. stainless exhaust manifold and Rumbaker sports coil.

·         Hydraulic brakes on Morris Minor backplates

·         Front axle nicely bowed with new king pins and bushes by Ian Dunford. Radius arm links are currently missing (I am still looking and they may turn up before the sale!)

·         Wheels are 19” with some strange motorcycle tyres. Wheels are very solid and paint is OK. but they are not mint. Tyres have plenty of tread but are certainly 20 years old and so should probably be replaced

·         Good screw-in torque tube rear axle

·         4-speed crash gearbox

·         Instruments generally original including 80mph speedo (not connected). Modern electronic rev counter. Instruments have gold painted rims for some reason which could do with removing

Sold as seen of course. but I expect this can be a good. fun car without much work. Please phone me for an honest view (07810 503155) or better still come and have a look.

Collection only. Cash on collection or bank transfer beforehand

Thanks for your interest and happy bidding!

Hi, Is the body GFK or aluminium? Can you send me some pics? Those on the offer are to small to open.
Regards,
Walter
