Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. Body only! This auction is for a 1963 Mercedes 190SL body which has been stripped down. If you are looking at this listing then you are probably aware that this was one of the first vehicles to be built on a unibody/ integrated body and chassis platform. As regards the chassis, the center tunnel appears to be solid and salvageable. Furthermore, most of the cross supports are also pretty solid and salvageable. The pictures pretty well show the ones which need welding or replacement. In short, in my opinion, the chassis/unibody is salvageable. The car is from Wisconsin hence the rust. I purchased this car about 12 years ago from the gentleman in Madison Wisconsin who is well known as one of the top 190 SL salvage and parts guys (I believe he has many listings on Ebay right now). He informed me that he had been trying to purchase this particular car from the previous owner for years as it was just sitting in a yard, and yes, it does come with the Wisconsin title in the name of the last registered owner of this car. Upon purchasing, he assessed that the car was better to part out. I purchased the car with the intention of using this as a base for a ground up build of a rensport racer replica and so wasn't concerned with any kind of restoration, and I still believe that it would well be suited for that purpose, I just don't have the time. At some point in it's life the car suffered a fender bender at the front left headlight as can be seen in the pictures, there is no evidence that this did anything but superficial damage and in no way affected the structural part of the body, this is furher evidenced in how well all of the aluminum body components fit as can further be seen in pictures. As regards the aluminum body components; The hood/bonnet, I believe, is original to this car and it is the only one which has an imperfection (an anomoly in the hump) and is difficult to show in pictures, I intended to modify with a rensport scoop, so wasn't worried about it but should be easy fix as it is so minimal. The trunk lid is straight and undamaged. The doors are straight and undamage, though the one has snaps for tonneau and lacks the chrome trim. If you have specific thoughtful questions feel free to ask. five zero three seven five zero seven eight seven six. I will assist with shipper otherwise shipping or pick up is the responsibility of the buyer. As you may notice in the pictures, the body sits on a cart with casters for easy moving and that comes with if desired. A $500 deposit is due within the first 24 hours and I am not inclined to release that should buyer change their mind as my listings are honest and forthright and I wish my time to be respected in the same way that I respect other's time. If you have something specific additionally of which you would like a picture or further information, just ask. Also, if anyone would like to inspect the car in person before the end of auction they are welcome to, just contact me and we'll arange a time. Thank you
