Reluctantly selling my 1989 300SL. I have owned this car for nearly 6 years and enjoyed every moment of it. The 300SL is the sought after version with an excellent balance of performance and handling. This car was manufactured in the last year of production and the chassis is galvanised so has no rust. It has always been maintained and there is a huge history file covering the 5 owners. It has a full service history (20 plus stamps) and is backed up by a Mercedes print out from 1994 with all services and costs up until 2002. After that date it was serviced by specialists with supporting history. I even have a nice letter from the previous owner. It has optional fog lamps. headlight wash wipe. fire extinguisher. immobiliser and leather seats. It has the original hardtop and a wind deflector. It also comes with a period Becker Mexico radio cassette for which I also have the box and instructions. The mileage is 142. 00 which can put people off but having looked at many cars with low mileages. this one was far better and with these models. it is almost irrelevant. You would think it had done 50. 00 miles if you didn't know. It has an MOT to June next year and is currently SORN'd for the winter. It drives beautifully with first class mechanics and body. The only faults are a small rip in the hood side plastic window (there since I've owned it and not worth replacing). the headlamp wash wipe system doesn't work and a rear brake caliper is sticking due to lack of use and needs exercising. The body is very good with a few minor dings and scratches and a very small patch of bubbling on the near side front wing which has not broken through the metal and is easily rectified. That's about it. Only selling due to purchase of another convertible and the fact I haven't used it much in the last few years.
