1961 Chevrolet Corvette

This is a "Barn Find" that was found sitting in a garage for over 45 years. The last time this Vette was driven was in 1975, Vietnam War had just ended. The last time it was registered was 1966 (documented). The prior owner, Craig Johnson (ownership 1974ish-2021) mentioned his daughter is 43 yeas old & has never seen it outta of the garage.I am Excited To Bring To Auction This 1961 Corvette Numbers Matching 283ci Dual Quad High-Lift Cam 4 SpeedRarest Color Of All That Year With Only 747 in Sateen Silver Timeline Of History & Video Of Prior OwnerDocumented Thru Video & Paperwork - Not Just A He Said / She Said Story!1st Owner Stephen Burdick was stationed at March Air Force Base in Riverside, California. March is one of the oldest airfields operated by the United States military. He was issued a loan thru March AFB Federal Credit Union. Sadly, Mr.Burdick had died during service to our County records shown. God bless him for serving our county. Power Of Attorney paperwork showing the Credit Union had sold off the Vette on his behalf.2nd Owner: February 4th of 1966 Mr. Gene Tomazin of Riverside, California | Within 20 minutes from the air force base.I did some home research trying to find any more information other then a name on the title. Few days later, I found a phone number. 4 rings & a older gentlemen picked up the phone. To our luck, he was still alive. 78 years young & remembering 1966 like if it was yesterday. You can only imagine the shock that he went thru him when I asked if he had ever owned a 61' Silver Corvette. His father purchased this Corvette for him from the Credit union. They registered it thru AAA.  He was 22 years old in 1966. He said it was one of the  fastest cars he had ever drove. He sure burned rubber, he didn't get any speeding tickets cause back then they knew all the cops in town. Coming home one night driving down Magnolia Ave, a off duty police officer pulled out of a bar hitting the passenger side fender of the Vette. They parked it & it sat. He shortly left to go serve in the Military for a few years. I do have a the phone call recorded. 3rd Owner - Mr. Craig Johnson of Los Angeles, California EST. 1974 | A Friend of his knew Gene whom was asking around if anyone was looking to purchase a project Vette. It was stored at Edwards AFB & they all came to a agreement. It was delivered to his home. Here is a video of Craig & his wife sharing there side of the story

.This is the type of story you never wanna hear. Parked & never had anytime for his own project. A project to have been restored for his son's prom 1986, his son now 56. I passed by with the garage opened in August & got to talking. He was looking to let it go & I purchased it. He only drove it a few times around the block.

Putting on most of the trim back on it. As you can see, it needs total restoration. The third owner started to collect parts thru the years, some new some old & some NOS. Its not 100% all there but  again its a project. The original paint is still left on the doors, the trunk compartment & inner top hatch. The 2nd owner mention to me he sold the soft top years ago to a friend. It also has the hardtop that comes along with it. It been prime since a long time, the partial front clip was done by JD Corvette in the 70's. The body needs total restoration. Passenger cracked recently.Please understand it need to be trailed, it needs a full restoration.
