Corvette Stingray C3 - 1971 for sale
Current customer rating: (83 votes ) based on1971 CORVETTE STINGRAY 4-SPEED 350 Auto T-TOP. Red on Red.
Genuine original 1971 car with matching numbers.
Small block 350ci (5.75l)
Imported into UK in 2014 which is when I purchased the car.
4 speed Auto conversion.
This is a really lovely vet, MOT and TAX exempt.
One of the last of the true chrome bumpers cars with the pop out rear window. Original factory Red with read interior.
Power steering. Power assisted brakes. All callipers have been re-cond or replaced.
The Engine has had a few mods. Some of them done by me and some by the previous owner in the states. Ones I know about… Dart heads, Roller rockers, High lift cam. Polished alloy intake. Holly Double Pumper carb, MSD ignition, lots of chrome engine parts including alternator, valve covers, air filter.
It does idle a bit rough when it's cold due to the performance parts but runs well.
It has had a 4 speed auto conversion (done in the states) which really helps the fuel economy and drive of the car.
Dart headers with straight through Flowmaster exhausts. This is a very LOUD car. Sounds like a race car. It rocks the neighbours houses and sets off their car alarms when it starts up.
Lovely Torq thrust 2 alloys.
New front anti rollbar.
New Seatbelts on the original buckles.
The interior is a little tatty and the carpets will need replacing (on my list of things I never got around to).
Corvette stereo, although not the original one.
Boot rack, all performance cars should have one….
The chrome work is all excellent.
The front grill was cracked and painted so may need re-chroming at some point.
There is a small seam split the passenger seat.
The car drives amazing. It handles well, not rolling in the bends like most do. Stops well to.
Chassis/Frame is solid.
The Paint… It's not good. I never bothered having it re-sprayed as I kinda liked the look, but I guess most people would want to re-spray it. The biggest issue is that it's been lacquered, and the lacquer has bubbled and pealed off. I'm not a paint expert that's what I think.
This car photographs well. The paint is worse than it looks in the pictures so zoom in... I have tried to capture that true condition but the only way to get a feel of the car is to view it.
V5 in my name.
Happy for you to view. Car is in Chobham Surrey GU24.
