Up for bids is a 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Fastback, Q Code 427-410, 4 speed. The car was sold new at Zahner Motor Co., Cleveland, Ohio on 6/13/63. I am the 4th owner and have owner history. It was driven by the 2nd owner until 1969, then stored until 2016. I bought it in 2017 and gave it a body-on, sympathetic restoration. It still retains its original, born with, 427 center oiler engine. Heads, manifolds, distributor, bell housing, water pump, carb are all original to the car, all dated March-May, 1963, block dated March 24, 1963. Car built on May, 21. The engine was completely rebuilt by master engine builder, Bill Coleman. It was given a clean up bore of .017" and fitted with 10 to 1 pistons, to run on today's pump gas. A NOS FoMoCo 427 solid lifter cam was installed along with new lifters, valves, springs, rocker assemblies, pushrods, etc. Rods re-sized, crank polished (did not have to be cut) and balanced. Minor rear main drip. Receipts and build sheet available. Engine builder rates this engine at 410-420 horsepower. NOS clutch installed. New Holley 750CFM installed, (original carb w/ green tag included). Original BW T10 4 speed (dated 4/25/63), shifts well w/no noises. Vintage Hurst shifter, original FoMoCo shifter included. Original 9" open rear with 3.50 gears. Brakes, fuel system rebuilt with new tank, lines. Re-cored original radiator, does not overheat, rebuilt starter and generator. Has original Hi Po 3" brakes, large drive shaft, front steering stops, etc. No hit body stripped and repainted original Rangoon Red. Original Vinyl top not perfect, but too nice to replace. Original interior except for carpet. Minor imperfections on driver's seat. Mostly all exterior trim replaced with NOS pieces, including side trim, grille, headlight doors, emblems, trunk trim, rear panel trim, door handles, antenna, 427 emblems. NOS HiPo hubcaps.. All glass is original script. All gauges work, radio works, clock works. New exhaust w/ NOS FoMoCo stamped mufflers. Original window sticker. Approximately 780 miles since restoration. The last photo is of the car when I purchased it, showing all original paint. Mileage believed to be original. This is an extremely original, great driving car. I have a clear, matching Maryland title in my name. No warrantees or guarantees, expressed or implied. Car and title will not be released until all funds clear my bank. Transportation costs to be paid by buyer. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit required within 24 hours of auction end. Full payment within 7 days, wire transfer preferred. If you require more info or more pictures, please ask! 410-876-9830. I highly recommend and encourage inspecting the car prior to auction end. I'm located 2 hours south of Hershey. Thanks for looking!
