Hello Viewers!I am incredibly excited to put this is a one-of-a-kind 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL AMG for sale. I am here to happily discuss any questions any of you may have. I am a private owner/seller and have owned this beauty since 2012. I have been restoring various parts over the years. The original owner had AMG modifications done in-period, some of which still remain on the vehicle and some of which I have since replaced. I DO still have the original steering wheel for this vehicle, which has been well kept and has not been on the vehicle since 1989, it will be available by request.Recently refurbished and running like new! The body is finished in Arctic White over beige leather and is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Certain parts showed serious wear when I received and I spent a lot of time finding the replacements!- (2019) Penta Wheels (originals were damaged)- (2020) AMG Steering Wheel Type II- (2021) Burl Wood Shift Knob, as well as matching new thermostat interface- (2021) AMG Badge (the “G” was severely damaged)An original exhaust system with added Pre-Merger AMG exhaust tips were added. Work within the last year included refinishing the bumpers, reupholstering the seats, fluid services, an overhaul of the power steering and suspension systems, and replacement of the tires, valve cover gaskets, timing chain rails, and more as described below. This R107 now shows 77500k miles and is offered in California with a window sticker, manufacturer's literature, recent service records, a tool roll, accessories, a Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the seller's name.The bodywork is finished in Arctic White (147U) and paired with a recently replaced black convertible top as well as a body-color removable hardtop. An AMG body kit was added by original owner at the original Mercedes America in Montvale NJ. Additional exterior details include fog lights and a power antenna. The Carfax report lists damage occurring in March 2021, this is being resolved and is due to the way the bumper work was filed. The seller recently had the front and rear bumper trim refinished, and the weather seals for both tops as well as the windshield wiper arms and side moldings were replaced.Silver-painted 15″ AMG Penta alloy wheels with machined lips were fitted in 2020, and the seller states that the 205/65 Sumitomo HTR A/S P03 tires were recently installed. A factory alloy wheel and spare tire are stored in the trunk. An alignment was performed in May 2021.The cabin features seats reupholstered in beige leather, while burl wood trim accents the center console and two-tone dashboard. Equipment includes automatic climate control, cruise control, a lockable glovebox, power windows, a Becker Grand Prix cassette radio, and Mercedes-Benz–branded floor mats. A burl wood shift knob was added by the seller.The Italvolanti Corsa steering wheel features an AMG-logo center cover wrapped in leather, and it frames instrumentation featuring an AMG-logo 190-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, fuel economy, and oil pressure. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 77500k miles, approximately 11k of which were added by the seller.The 5.5-liter M117 V8 features Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 287 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Work in 2021 included fluid services and replacement of the following components:* Valve cover gaskets* Timing chain rails* Steering damper* Power steering pump, gears, and hoses* Steering damper* Transmission and engine mounts* Rear flex disc* Differential seals* Front subframe mounts and suspension bushings* Transmission oil cooler line* Exhaust systemThe window sticker shows initial delivery to Holmes European Motors of Shreveport, Louisiana, as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total suggested retail price of $60,880.Manufacturer's literature, including an owner's manual and maintenance booklet, is included in the sale along with recent service records, Mercedes floor mats, a tool roll, and a hardtop stand.Known Flaws:- Small dings on hardtop stainless steel lining- Two small holes in the leather, one on convertible top closer and another- Trunk lock vacuum has been replaced but needs to go to a locksmith to have unjammed.- Very small signs of wear on body trim, no significant isssues.When restoring I decided to keep the AMG look as I fell in love with it and realized how hard these were to come by in one beautiful example.I have tried my best to do this car the justice it deserves and to preserve the time-capsule of the '80s, I hope you all enjoy it, and may the best win!Please only contact if a serious buyer.
