1967 FORD ELEANOR MUSTANG GT500

Eleven of the fictional Eleanor Mustangs were created for the movie. although only three of these were working cars. and two of these were destroyed during filming. This one was Cage's primary ‘beauty' car. used mostly for close ups as well as promotional efforts.

The car was sold during the Dana Mecum 26th Original Spring Classic Auction in Indianapolis last week for a staggering $1 000 000. 00. Though not an original Shelby. the Eleanor Mustangs was based on a 1967 Mustang fastback and was built by Cinema Vehicle Services with the help of legendary coachbuilder Chip Foose. Key features of the car are its central-mounted driving lights. pumped fender flares. and unique hood and trunk. Power comes from a 351 Ford V-8 crate engine. rated at 400 horsepower.

The one-of-kind custom 1967 Mustang Fastback from the 2000 film remake was cited in Hot Rod magazine's February 2009 issue as one of 100 most influential vehicles in the history of hot rodding. as it commanded non-car people's attention.

Eleanor is just as much a star of the movie as Cage was. and it was considered the object of desire that drove the whole film. Though a number of Mustangs actually portrayed Eleanor throughout filming. the one that sold today was actually the "hero car. used in close-ups. promotional materials. and posters. It was so popular that it rejuvenated the whole resto-modding scene. /p>

This car is a very good example. It is a usable car and has been driven  and used several times on Video shoots and promotional purposes. The car is auto and could be made into a manual if need be.
