ChevroletCorvette1962 C1 Roadster V8 Manual 4 speed. Complete with Factory Hardtop. 1962.
We are a small family business and have been trading locally for the last 44 years. All our vehicles come direct from main dealers in part exchange for new models and are subsequently all fully HPI checked. We have been known to turn around upto 800 cars. light commercials and classic cars in a year. and here is such an example.
This is a rare and fantastic opportunity to own a piece of American history. It is to the Americans what the Jaguar E Type is to the British an absolute icon.
This particular example built in 1962 is one of the last few C1 models built. and is in fact the last year that the Corvette had a trunk as the Americans call it until 1998. and the last year of exposed headlights until 2005. It has the desirable V8 327cu 5. 4L engine with a Carter 4 barrel carburettor. and is coupled to a manual 4 speed gearbox. As well as having its convertible hood and frame. it has the even rarer factory hardtop fitted.
Amazingly this car has been owned by the same man since 1968 with reputedly just the one owner before him. It has been off the road and in storage since approximately 1972.
1962 was the 50th anniversary for the car maker and in this year there were 14531 built of which 1851 were built this colour. The cost new was $4038. 00 for the base car and everything else was extra including the hardtop which cost $236. 75. even the radio. cigarette lighter and heater was extra.
This really is an amazing car and a super proposition for someone to invest in. I was looking on the internet today and found one that had been sold earlier this year for $175. 00. 00. it had been painstakingly restored to as new condition. and here is a chance to do the same thing.
I think this is one of the most original unrestored and unmolested cars I have seen. I would say that most of the paint is still the original. infact the body could almost be flattened and painted as is. it really is exceptional on the body with none of the usual cracking. it is very straight and damage free with the exception of a very small split just below the boot lid where someone has probably tried getting into it. The interior is also very complete and original. even down to the carpets. I actually think you could use them again. Door panels are excellent. even the seats are quite nice with the exception of a couple of split seams. Dash area is also complete with all instruments and switches present and correct. As previously stated it does have its factory hardtop and this again is very nice and complete with no obvious damage. even the head lining is nice and usable. its hood frame is also present and complete. The chassis will need some repairs but I am told various repair sections are available. The mechanical condition is unknown however it is all original. untouched and complete even down to its air cleaner.
The car appears to be totally complete with the exception of 1 wheel trim. 1 sill moulding and 1 rear quarter bumper. The nice thing about these cars is like the E Type you can get virtually everything for them.
This example has the factory heater fitted and also the original Wonderbar radio.
There are 2 keys. an original workshop repair book. spare wheel and not 1 but 2 original jacks.
I think that covers everything. If I have missed anything. you can email or preferably contact Roger on 07774564465. or John on 07836647244. alternatively you are welcome to come and view the car before the end of the auction. it is located in Bromley. Kent.
Please do not ask how much to buy it now. just put your best bid in and we strongly advise you do not leave it until the last minute and then miss out as so often happens.  Now for the important bit. I would respectfully ask that people follow ebay rules. that is to say please have the curtousy to only bid if you are in a position to fulfill the contract which you are entering once you have placed an auction bid. If there is someone who is lucky enough to win this car please be aware that all funds are to clear fully before the car is released. We can possibly arrange delivery which can be discussed with any potential new owner.
We do reserve the right to end the auction early.
Please also be aware that all import duties have been paid and that all relevant paperwork will be passed on to the new owner. Furthermore if the car is to remain in the UK this documentation will allow a UK age related registration number to be allocated to it once it has been restored and put back on the road.
To sum up this is a very very rare chance to own an incredible American icon at a fraction of the price of what some are changing hands for. Its the right model. with the right spec and in a rare colour combination. This surely is better than having money in the bank. it is only ever going to go up in value.
Please no dreamers or time wasters.
Please read my feedback and bid with total confidence.
Finally all I would like to add is good luck and thanks for looking.
