Reluctant sale due to unforeseen change in personal circumstances.Porsche 911-996.2Carrera 2Factory aeroManual 6 speedNon sunroof320bhp0-60 4.9secV max - 170mphI am selling my much loved Porsche 911 with regret as it has lived up expectations and surpassed them in many ways. Personally I think this is the ideal specification as it comes with the later engine with more power and the modified, stronger IMS bearing. The engine in this car was actually fitted by Porsche UK in late 2008 and is the later, improved version as a result. Also, being a higher mileage car it is fair to assume that any issues will have arisen by now. In fact, this is a very reliable car and the engine is strong and performs as you would hope. The mileage on the engine is also around 60K less than shown on the cars odometer with paperwork to confirm fitting from Porsche. It also sounds terrific thanks to the Dansk sports exhaust and genuine K&N induction kit. (the OE air box will be included in the sale) Both myself and previous owners have taken care of the engine with annual servicing and a strict warm up regime where 3K rpm is not exceeded until fully warmed through. A major service was done in June of this year and I have just completed another oil and filter change, along with a new auxiliary belt. There was no oil use noted in the past 2000 miles and there is no smoking evident when either cold or warm. There are also no untoward noises. knocks or rattles evident.The gearbox can be a little reluctant when cold, which is a common characteristic of the 996, but I usually either double de clutch or select 3rd before going back to 2nd in an effort to simply display some mechanical sympathy. Once warm the gearbox works perfectly and there are no noises or jumping out of gears. The clutch is also in good order having been changed a few years ago. A B&M short shift gearbox mechanism is also included although this is not yet fitted. The Bola aftermarket wheels and tyres have done just a few thousand miles and are in good order with lots of life in the tyres. (Goodyear all round) The brakes are also very good and pull up straight and true. I had planned on fitting new rear discs next spring but there is no urgency. The alloys really suit the 996 and set it apart from cars running the OE five spoke or turbo twist wheels. They were specced specifically for a 996 and no spacers are currently fitted. There are some to be included in the sale though.The bodywork presents really well for a car of this age and there is no rust of chassis corrosion evident. There are some minor stone chips and marks that are commensurate with the cars age, but overall it looks fantastic on the driveway. Especially with the boxster red extended leather interior in contrast to the arctic silver paintwork. This is set off by the black Bola alloy wheels and carbon door mirror caps. Overall it is a very pretty car that has really started to come of age now.  The personal registration will be included in the sale. This 996 is also fitted with the relatively rare aero kit and this was specced when new. Other options include Porsche Sat Nav, Parking Sensors, Cruise Control, Porsche Stability Management and all of these work as they should. The interior condition is also extremely good and belies the age and mileage of this 996. The final modification is that of a genuine Momo Mod 07 steering wheel which feels lovely and looks great. It really transformed the feel of the steering which is excellent. The OE steering wheel is included. Overall the interior condition is just very nice indeed and there are genuine Porsche over mats fitted front and rear.If you want a showroom fresh, low mileage 996 then this probably isn't the car for you. However, if you want a really tidy and reliable 911 that you won't be afraid to use and enjoy, but that still looks great and performs as a 911 should, then this could be the perfect example.
