I'm selling our 1992 Mini 998 Cooper replica to make room for a new project.Originally a 998cc City E, we've styled it as a Cooper replica. Still really cheap on insurance.12 months MOT, 81399 miles, excellent condition throughout, recent service. We bought this car several years ago to do up as my son's first car. To get it road-ready we had the following work done at the well-respected Classic Mini in Sheffield -New floorpans, both sides.New vented sills - proper sills, not caps.New heelboard, with extra reinforcement.Rear valance plate. The car has been comprehensively worked on and is now absolutely structurally perfect, with new front subframe mountings fitted for the MOT.Rear suspension was also rebuilt with new cones and refurbed trumpets etc. New radius arms. Recondition rear subframe fitted. All new brakes pipes and new rear brake shoes and fittings.EXTERIORResprayed, paint code will be supplied with the car.White Minilite wheels with Mini Cooper centre caps, all with good tyres, loads of tread left.5" alloy spotlights, wired to come on with full beam.Union Jack roof decal on white roof.Authentic Cooper bonnet and boot lid badges.Leather bonnet safety strap.Chrome door mirrors in great condition.New 8 bar Cooper grille.Period correct double white pinstripes & Mini Cooper graphics.LED rear lights.High level brake light.Team Heko wind deflectors.INTERIORWooden dash with Mini Cooper white dials.Additional gauges for oil pressure, voltage and temperature. All work, thought tempo needs connecting to existingDash mounted tacho.Alloy Cooper gear knob.Alloy handbrake handle.Alloy door fittings.New red seat belts to compliment the body colour.Cup holders on inside of glove box door.Leather & alu racing steering wheel.2 USB ports in original under dash radio holder - ideal to stick your phone in.New carpets front and back.UNDER THE BONNETStandard 998cc A series engine with single carb, free-flow air filter and LCB exhaust with chrome tail pipe. All lighting has been rewired in heavier gauge wiring, with all lights now switch via dedicated relays - less stress on the fragile old original light switch!All-important weather shield, with Cooper graphics.Union Jack rocker cover.New Lucas 12v coil.New battery.Recent full service with dwell angle etc set up by Classic Mini. Also comes with bespoke Mini toolbox, Union Jack spotlight covers and B&W Union Jack cushions for the rear seat.I'm selling this to make space for a new project, a 1965 TR4. To be fair, we haven't used the Mini much this last 18 months, my son now drives a VW :(The car is utterly reliable, starts first time with the right amount of choke. Road holding and cornering are superb, as you'd expect from a classic Mini, and the filter and exhaust give it just the right engine note when revving up. Brilliant for channelling your inner Michael Caine in The Italian Job...This Mini has never failed us - for example, we took it on the 60th anniversary London to Brighton Run in 2019 (stickers still on the car). We drove from Yorkshire down to Crystal Palace, then the next day from Crystal Palace to Brighton then all the way back up to Yorkshire. The car didn't miss a beat, not a single problem and was absolutely brilliant and settled. This really is a great car to drive. You always get waves, smiles, flashing headlights and lots of attention when on the road, and I've lost count of how many people wander up to talk about the car when it's parked up.Being nearly 30 years old, it does have some signs of age with some bumps and scratches. There's also some surface bubbling now appearing and some paint discolouration, but it still looks brilliant even close up so viewing is essential. Please note, the Mini is also advertised elsewhere so may be withdrawn from sale at any time.Any questions, just drop me a message. Thanks for looking.
