FOR SALE - '65 Cobra Factory Five 2005 with only 5'414.00 miles. Body off frame, newly painted midnight black. Powered by a period--correct 1965 date-coded 289CID engine with recent Edelbrock Power Package Top end kit with aluminum heads, intake, manifold and polished water pump offering greater horsepower with lighter weight resulting in improved performance. Shelby enthusiasts agree that the 289s we're sweeter handling and better balanced cars that were 9/10s as fast. This particular roadster is special due to not having a chrome roll bar to spoil the classic profile. This feature draws a look of undeniable uniqueness. Nicely detailed with a vintage looking Cobra air cleaner and a pair of Cobra-logo valve covers. Purists will appreciate the Holly 4-barrel carburetor, just like Carroll used. Newly powder coated killer side exhaust with heat shields. A mix of classic school and more modern tech improvements like the billet pulleys, the electric pump for the power steering system (no need to steal horsepower), and a new aluminum fan. There's also a power steering system to make this car a lot friendlier on the street. The tubular chassis is stiff and secure. The entire frame was powder coated black for lasting durability. The transmission is a T5 5-speed manual from a mustang, which means a steep first gear for acceleration and an overdrive fifth gear for easy cruising. Front suspension features upper and lower tubular A-arms with coil overs while out back a 10-bolt rear is secured by a triangulated 4-link. The steering is rack and pinion and powdered by the electric pump, as mentioned, for sharp response without excessive effort. Brakes are disc up front and drums out back. On this lightweight car you don't need massive rotors at all four corners. Wheels are gorgeous Halibrand replicas with gold centers. Tires are 235/60R15 front and 275/50R15 rear B F Goodrich Radial T/As. The interior showcases tan seating with matching dash and fully upholstered door panels. Also matches exterior pinstriping. Cool reverse-rotation gauges by Autometer. Correct AC aluminum foot pedals. The shifter is just like the forward chanted original that was installed in the early Cobras. Simpson 5-point harnesses installed for safety and an Alpine stereo provides entertainment. The trunk is nicely finished with full carpeting. Notice the beautiful wood steering wheel, an excellent reproduction of the original. This car is a mix of classic school and modern tech. Runs and drives perfectly. Fun to operate and maintain. Estimated at well over 300 horsepower in a lightweight roaster and looks amazing! Priced to sell at $49,000
The VIN is CA967934 and won't show up on eBay motors because it's a kit car and has 8 digits rather than 17.
