Has been in the same family since new. The 429 Cobra Jet engine was only offered it the Mustang in 1971 and this is one of them. Most were drag raced and thrashed. This one is absolutely loaded with options, many of which are very rare. The Marti Report proves this and the car is 1 of 1 built with it's options which is decoded off the original Ford production records by Kevin Marti. Of the 149,682 1971 Mustangs built, of those 36,498 were Mach 1's, of those Mach 1's this is 1 of 1371 built with the top dog (underrated at 375 HP for insurance reasons) 429 4V Cobra Jet engine, of those only 851 had the bulletproof C6 automatic transmission which was considered faster than the 4 speed manual, of those only 64 were painted the beautiful Grabber Yellow, of those 42 had the Mach 1 black Sports Interior (many Mach 1's had the base, boring standard interior!!), of those only 22 had the chrome 15" Magnum 500 wheels, of those 10 had the rare AM 8 track stereo radios which also gave you 2 extra speakers in the doors, of those only 5 had the Sport Deck rear fold down seat, of those only 3 had the optional and awesome looking functional rear deck lid spoiler, and of those only 2 came with the must have for today's driving tilt away steering column and this is the ONLY one of those cars with the 3.25 ratio Traction Lock 9" Differential!! I have owned, sold or brokered over 50 71-73 Mustangs in the past 20 years and know the good, the bad and the ugly with them very well. I would not take the time to take all the pictures and videos, and write as much as I have if the car wasn't worthy either. It is absolutely spectacular in absolutely every way and drives perfectly, basically like a brand new car, 50 years later! I don't like to call anything perfection, but this car really is darn close!! The 13K miles are original and only things that needed replacing or rebuilding have ever been done to it. The fact it was never outside over night and stored in a humidity controlled facility since new has kept it preserved the way you see it. It is one of the most original, unrestored survivor 429 CJ 1971 Mustangs in the world and I'd say it is one of the top 5 1971 Mustangs in the world. This car was special ordered and bought new by the owner of F and D Motor Co Inc in North Carolina. He kept the car as a show car and occasional nice day only driver until March 2005 when he passed away. The car had 11K miles as of then and has 13,425 miles now. He left the car to his daughter along with a few others which I will also be selling for her in the next few months as she is now in her 60's and would like to downsize her car collection, so please no trade offers. It was basically their weekend fun car on nice days only since new. This car was was their pride and joy and only driven on the nicest of days, never in bad weather. It has won many first place and best of show trophies over the years at various Mustang and Ford shows including many Mustang Club of America events. It has been started at least every 2 weeks its' whole life and let get up to operating temperature and driven around the block, weather permitting. Nothing leaks or seeps and car is as close to showroom new as you will find, 50 years later. Only hand washed and hand waxed.  They even waxed the door jams and cleaned the underside and inside of the wheels often.
