Beautiful 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop painted in the original Matador Red with a white top.  Power comes from a stock (period correct) 283 c.i. Chevy V-8 treated to a 600 cfm Edelbrock carburetor and Performer intake manifold.  An MSD distributor helps with the electronic ignition and a serpentine belt system is used to drive the Vintage Air heat & A/C (which does work), power steering, and alternator.  A new gas tank and fuel lines were added along with coated long tube headers with a complete 2 ½” Magna Flow exhaust system giving the Bel Air a nice tone driving down the road.  And finally, an aluminum Griffin radiator keeps everything cool and running at 190 degrees.

The shifting is handled by a Turbo 350 3-speed automatic which uses an after market trans cooler and stock converter.  The rear differential is a stock 1957 Chevrolet item with open 3.23:1 gears. 

An upgraded Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brake system stops the car “on a dime” and CPP tubular ‘A' arms with QA1 adjustable coil over shocks handles the front suspension.  To assist with the handling are front and rear CPP sway bars along with 18” US Mag wheels mounted on 255/40 ZR Ohtsu radial tires.

The interior was totally redone and reupholstered in the original style as well as adding new carpeting.  All of the gauges function normally, and the radio has the appearance of an original AM unit but is an AM/FM/USB system with a trunk mounted amplifier. 

The exterior of the Chevy is in excellent condition.  It is not known how long ago the car was painted, but the body appears to be very straight with little to no rust.  The exterior stainless and chrome trim around the windows appear to be original and shows age in some areas.  The windows go up and down easily and the glass is in excellent condition except for a small area on the passenger side rear quarter window where the lamination is showing.  Exterior chrome and emblems are in very good condition.

Current owner purchased the car from an estate 5 years ago in the condition you see it today.  He has only logged approximately 3000 miles on it attending local shows and car cruises.  The exact date when all of the work was performed is unknown.

The '57 starts easily, drives and runs great and draws a crowd wherever it goes.
