Welcome to the Auction of one very special 911. This is by no means a straight forward car to describe, so please read through my description thoroughly and I will do my best!

Not something I normally like to stress so early on in a description, but after listing previous 911's in the past I really must push this point out there from the outset: PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME FOR A “BUY IT NOW” PRICE, THIS CAR IS 100% ON HERE TO SELL TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER IN TRADITIONAL AUCTION FORM!

Ok. You may have seen previous 911's I have sold here on eBay, and this one is again the same story as before. The car is been listed on behalf of a long term friend of mine who has now retired. His lifelong career was as a Vintage Car Restorer and Porsche specialist and lifelong enthusiast. This is one of the last cars from his own personal collection, and is one that is very close to his heart. He has owned and enjoyed the car now for the past 25 years.

This car started life in Germany, and left the factory back in 1971. It's original colour was Signal Orange, and it is a genuine 911 “S” Coupe. It was imported and registered here in the UK in 1984, and between that time and when my friend bought the car it unfortunately in the eyes of a purist underwent 2 major changes. Firstly, typical to the 1980's the rear end was changed to a wide body. These wings are steel, NOT fibreglass so that is at least in it's favour. Secondly, the motor was swapped out and changed to a very potent 3.0 litre engine reportedly sourced from a race car.  Last of all, my friend changed the colour of the car to a now very current and well suited Slate Grey. The results make for a really rather remarkable 911 by any standards. Gorgeous looking, ridiculously fast but never the less no longer a 71 S for the discerning collector.

Down to the burning question to many of you who are still interested then, how does this car perform?! In short like a bloody bullet!  This is the first 911 I ever went in back when I was in my teens and it simply blew me away. Today, it's pretty much still the same. It influenced me so strongly then that I have gone on to own a handful of flat six Porsches myself over the years, but I can still hand on heart say this is still the sharpest of them all! Razor! You do need your wits about you, but once you get into the zone of the thing it is simply addictive and will unquestionably provide its lucky new owner with some very special times - just don't go and expect to be able to drive it like Stig Blomqvist the first time you pilot it as it will probably kill you!

As you can see in the photographs the car is in super overall condition. Roger the owner has always been more of an “Oily Rag” type of chap, but I have seen it only fit and fair to give the old girl a thorough polishing to present it here. The colour really suits the car, and to say it turns heads is an understatement.  More importantly than how shiny it looks though is it's real trump card. This car is completely rust free, and all of the floors are still the originals. It has helped massively that it has lived indoors all of its time here in Herefordshire, but that factor in itself should place this up there way above numerous other patched up air cooled cars out there in the marketplace.

The vehicles mileage of 66,000 Kilometres cannot of course be warranted, but I have no reason to believe that it is not the main cars actual mileage. The 3.0 litre engine was believed as previously mentioned to of come from race heritage, and was also believed to be a low mileage although rebuilt unit. Sadly and I will explain if you call this no longer has any supporting evidence.

So, a difficult car to value. The overall look and stance of the car is pretty much reminiscent to a 70's RSR but with a more modern twist. I'm pretty sure there's a few firms out there really cashing in on this whole look and feel and I'm also pretty sure that they are charging telephone numbers for them so where does that place this particular car especially considering what it's real body actually is?! Something I will have to let you guys all decide.

A difficult car to place and describe then and probably one that you simply need to pick up the phone and speak to me about to answer most of your questions. This is my preference as I am not very often at a computer but always have my mobile to hand.

Delivery within the UK can be provided at your own cost, please message me for a quote and I will see what I can do to help. Any help needed for Export is also not a problem and something that I am quite familiar with. Again though please call me to discuss.

Usual nonsense I hate having to reinforce BUT: please only bid on the car having read the description thoroughly, having discussed the purchase with any relevant family members, and finally having the cleared funds to pay for it! Genuine bidders welcome, idle minded time wasters please move on.

Viewings are welcomed and encouraged, Social Distancing measures will be in place and respected at all times. Last of all, please rest assured also that the car is 100% HPI Clear.
