This highly desirable original right-hand drive roadster is now for sale.

850039 was the 39th of 91 RHD E-Type roadster produced by Jaguar in 1961. These cars were fitted with the now famous ‘external bonnet locks'. Complete with its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate and extensive photo documentation of its recent restoration. It has covered zero miles since.

This is a rare opportunity to own one of the most desirable Jaguar E-Types.

The car has just undergone a complete ‘nut and bolt' restoration. This stunning example has been finished in its original Opalescent Dark Blue over red trim.

Manufactured on the 20th June 1961 and registered ENO 39 on the 14 July 1961 it was delivered to Charles Attwood and Co, the Jaguar main dealer in Wolverhampton.

The E-Type had 6 owners from new until being acquired by the current owner in 1977.

During the restoration the owner (considered by many to be an expert on the early cars) paid meticulous attention to detail during the process which was carried out over the last 3 years. This involved restoration of original parts, retention of original features and sourcing original parts where necessary. The time and effort spent ensured the E-Type is “detail perfect” and as near as possible to the day it left the factory in July 1961.

Interestingly, the 1986 heritage sheet states that the vehicle was “assigned to the experimental department” for modifications needed to enable the fitting of accessories and then later returned to the production line and only then assigned its body number. Due to this it has many features normally only found on much earlier cars.

It is believed it has more of its original features than any other external bonnet lock E-Type.
