FORD CORTINA MK1 1700 CROSSFLOWVery reluctant sale of my Mk1 cortina running 1700 xflow!Bit of history about the car first....The cortina was a Genuine U.K RHD mk1 cortina 1200 deluxe, imported to malta from the U.K in the late 1960s which it then spent most of its life in a museum (the Malta classic car collection).She was then brought back to the U.K in 2010 which I later purchased in June 2017 in an unwelded original condition.I have a picture of her in the museum and pictures of her in the original condition before I had all the work done.In 2018 she was sent away and stripped of all the running gear down to the shell, engine bay was took back to bare metal which you can still see the original strut top number and spot welds.Underneath was left in its original unwelded condition with a light coat of old wax oil as I still wanted something left  original on the car and after all it's why it's still in solid condition with no repairs.Only welding that has been done is for rack and pinion and tramp bar conversion.Engine spec:                      The engine is of the “flat on flat” design comprising flat top Lotus twin cam pistons with new rings and freshly bored 711m block and 711m big valve flat head. It is of 1700cc with lightened and balanced 711m crank rods, lightened flywheel, fast road 234 Kent cam with duplex timing chain and vernier pulley. It has steel rocker posts and a steel crank pulley, ARP big end bolts and electronic ignition. It had cometic gaskets with an adjusa head gasket, high pressure oil pump and king bearing shells.Engine have been ran in and oil changed using valvoline VR1 20/50Running Twin 40sFacet fuel pump & malpassi filter king regulator kitPowerlite High tourque starting motorAll new silicone hoses and refurbished radiatorNew fuel linesBIG wing sumpExhaust: 105 speed stainless steel exhaust manifold and full custom stainless exhaust system.Suspension:Front coilover suspensionRack and pinionGaz rear dampersLeaf springs refurbished and new bushes and hangersTramp bar kit fittedGearbox is 5 speed type 9 with competition gear lever.Rear diff is a 3.9 fully rebuilt and axle painted and all new wheel cylinders and brake shoes.Many other parts but Everything mechanically is new or refurbished.Interior was stripped out, dash front and doors painted black, floor was primed/painted body colour and soundproofed.New black carpet set was fitted along with new Cobra GT bucket seats with runners.New door cards, kick panels, parcel shelf, under tray and door trim from Aldridge trimming. Dash top was also professionally retrimmed. Headlining is in excellent condition.Boot area is in excellent condition with battery relocated and sitting in motamec alloy battery holder. fuel pump and battery  isolator also in boot.Chrome is all in excellent condition with new quarter bumpers and refurbished front grill.Bodywork is in excellent condition and very straight, odd minor mark but nothing major.There you have it, an original unwelded shell modified with a period fast Road engine and uprated suspension and parts.Very reluctant sale I won't be selling for peanuts so no dreamers or stupid offers.Car like this is hard to find and will only go up.Any questions or for more pictures please email.Many thanks
