This is a 1981 Honda Civic DX 1500 5-speed hatchback. Mileage is approximately 227k. The car runs, drives, and stops well. I originally bought this a couple of years ago to fix up to give to my brother for his 50th birthday (his first car was an 83 Civic hatchback, the car he taught me to drive on), but plans have changed so now it's for sale.

This is an original AC car. The compressor turns when jumped, but should be considered inoperable - though all components are there. The car needs a heater core, it has been blocked off. Heater core is included. Since I have had it, I put in a water pump, CV boots, a serviceable paint job, new wheels and tires, and seat covers. I was changing the interior to black through various painting and dye methods. Tape deck and speakers work. All the exterior lights also work. The rear hatch in bungee corded shut. The latch was removed to attempt a repair and is included. The hood latch works fine when shut hard. Likely needs some adjustment.

The car is in extremely good shape with very minimal surface rust in a couple of places. Original CVCC motor and carb. I've seen a couple of oil dots and a coolant drip after parked for long periods. Shifts good, no grinding in any gear. Clutch has a nice low release point. A quick puff of smoke on startup, then it clears up. It really runs very well, though occasionally starting is stubborn after long periods of sitting. Original wheels and tires are included with sale.

No rust through that I have seen anywhere on this car. Originally came from California, through Florida, now here in Virginia. You are going to be hard-pressed to find another one in this condition, even with the additional work it needs. I have over 60 pictures I can send you if you would like to see all of them from the time I purchased it to now.

I'm not desperate for money, space, or to sell. Please keep your ridiculous offers to yourself. The only thing I have any interest in trading for is potentially a rollback/ramp truck/old U-Haul with aluminum bed still in place, plus cash to you of course. I have tried to be as thorough as possible in this description, but I'm sure I've missed something. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, or call or text 757-559-1289. Thanks for looking!
