1964 1/2 Ford Mustang Convertible Candy Apple Red white interior 2.8L 1965

This coming year will mark the 50 year Anniversary of the famous Ford Mustang.
This 1964 1/2 came out of Detroit on June 10th 1964. and is called the 1964 1/2 [though our Indiana title must call it a 1965] and is a VERY early Mustang.   After he passed away the car was bought from the family before changing hands these past two years and having lots of work done. It's straight. has a flashy paint job and looks GOOD going down the road!This 1964 1/2 Mustang would still be called in average condition. The Candy Apple Red color looks amazing going down the road with a [rare] powered roof that is in real good condition. We have been all around the body with a magnet and the body itself seems solid. The chrome and stainless are in good shape. The plastic rear window; likewise is in nice shape. not torn or yellowed. The glass is all in good shape with all of the windows going up and down with little resistance. There are a couple of small pebble marks though on the front windshield. Mustang Convertibles are very popular cars. Most people love them and they normally get a lot of attention. This is not a show car.  but with some effort it could be one for the Park Shows. Cruise Night Events. Car Club Shows etc. Because it is an early Mustang. it has tons of potential. It is a straight six cylinder with NO engine issues that we are aware of [it has been a daily driver for us the past few months and never failed to start. stop. or gain LOTS of attention]. It has the original 3 speed manual transmission and features a nice white interior. and a year old Candy Apple Red paint job [done in St. Louis; not perfect. but REAL nice] that is a real head turner!  It does have rust on the undercarriage. The floor pans have been replaced. though they are not welded in and the new buyer will want to have a working knowledge of welding or have a qualified welder  shore up the inner rockers. torque boxes and replace the cross member in the front [under the engine]. The body work and paint job was done by a shop called EMP at 1007 Spruce Street in Kansas City. the new tires came from Jims' Discount Tires in Kansas City.
Upholstery was done by R&S Upholstery in Independance MO. other parts were gotten from Mustang Plus in Kansas City [over $1. 00] bought from scottpasch64 for $10. 00 [ebay name] bringing the total of money invested in this car at just over $18. 00. 00.
