This is another great Silver Shadow II that has just come in. We supplied this car to its previous owner and it has just come back from P&A Wood with a Full Service and recommissioning invoice to the tune of £19,000, so basically you are getting the car for free! This is a 1977 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II, UK Right Hand Drive, Finished in Silver Chalice with Blue Leather Interior. She has covered 80k miles from new and is in a nice, clean, usable condition. The colours are especially striking on this one and the mileage is nice and low.

'To most people, a Rolls-Royce is the ultimate status symbol: you can aspire to nothing higher. Until you drive or even ride in one, it is difficult to appreciate how much lies behind the name. There are quieter cars, there are quicker cars but none cossets its occupants in quite the same manner, none insulates them from the outside world quite so effectively, to the point where rush-hour traffic jams, inclement weather and the other irritations of day-to-day living no longer seem to matter. On top of all this is the immeasurable pleasure offered by sheer unadulterated luxury of the sort that stems only from the use of the very best materials by the very best craftsmen. That is what the Silver Shadow is about.' - Motor.

Introduced in 1965, the Silver Shadow represented a complete break with tradition, being the first of the Crewe factory's models to employ unitary construction of the body/ chassis. All-round independent suspension and power-operated four-wheel disc brakes appeared for the first time on a Rolls-Royce, and production cars boasted a roof-line 4" lower than that of the preceding Silver Cloud II. The latter's well-tried, 6. 2-litre V8 continued in the Shadow until the need to maintain power while meeting US emissions targets saw it enlarged to 6, 750cc in 1970. Notable developments prior to that had included the adoption of GM400 automatic transmission and air conditioning as standard equipment.

Almost a quarter of a century after the last example left the Crewe factory, the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow - one of this illustrious British company's most successful models ever - remains an imposing and highly desirable motor car. Incorporating all the 'Series II' improvements, the most significant of which were power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering and split-level air conditioning.

Our car was first registered on the 7th November 1977 by Dutton Forshaw of Preston and presents well in her extremely elegant colour scheme she runs and drives superbly and presents as a great daily driving car. She is HPI Clear and has a current MOT until December 2021. We have a collection of invoices and old MOT's back to 1995, original book pack with service book and handbooks , recent service bill on file for £1054 and a huge P&A Wood Service from May 2021 totalling over £19,000. This is for a report and for remedying all things needed including new air conditioning system, fuel pumps, all new hoses etc. The car is ready for the summer!
