Current customer rating: (140 votes ) based onChassis Stop has built hundreds of resto-mods for their customers over the years –but this Camaro was commissioned by the brothers themselves and reflects their highest quality of work. The realization of this project reflects a longstanding vision from the creative minds of the two brothers. The intention of this build was to create a resto-mod that can be driven daily, across the country, serviced anywhere, driven at any elevation, and filled up at any pump.
This vehicle carries a presence that must be felt in person. Corvette enthusiasts may recognize the Cyber Gray Metallic paint and C6 Z06 Spyder wheels which hint at the various Corvette components used to make this Camaro's low-ride height possible without the use of air-suspension or handling compromises.
Tabula Rasa went into this design and the experience of driving this '70 RS resto-mod is second to none. Off-the-shelf parts were avoided wherever possible and custom fabrication was opted for instead. A critical but often overlooked aspect of resto-mod vehicles is modernizing the chassis.
This Camaro's chassis is exceptionally enhanced with custom frame rails, front support bars, complete C6 Corvette front suspension (inc. modified subframe, upper & lower control arms, spindles), front and rear anti-roll bars, QA1 adjustable coilovers, front carbon fiber mini-tub and Ford rack & pinion steering.
The rear suspension features a Chassis Stop proprietary triangulated 4-Link design that is perfect for this street muscle car. This design makes the Camaro stable and easy to control under acceleration at any speed. Very consistent 60' times. Extensive work went into modifying the factory frame rails and under chassis to gain the necessary ground clearance for a Corvette ride height.
The direct-injected 6.2L LT1 V8 engine and matching TR6060 6-speed manual transmission were sourced from a 2017 Camaro SS with 30,000KM. The engine uses the factory ECU, catalysts, and headers to output 455HP and 455LB-TQ. Custom stainless-steel low-profile exhaust system with XLERATOR mufflers. Custom polished aluminum intake. Griffin Performance 4-row radiator with 16” electric fan. Holley aluminum oil pan. Engine bay features billet hood hinges and fender braces.
A PST Aluminum driveshaft connects to a GM 8.2”10-bolt Auburn Pro-Series differential with 3.73 Richmond Gears. Moser Engineering 31 spline street axles drive the wheels.
GM Cyber Gray Metallic paint borrowed from a C6 Z06 Corvette. No cost spared in body work, painting, and polishing. BASF R-M Onyx HD paint and clear coat. This is a show winning paint job. The black stripes are painted. Both bumpers are painted body color. Unique modified front bumper. OEM C6 Z06 Spyder wheels refinished in black 18x10 front, 19x12 rear Bridgestone Potenza 275/35/18 front, 345/35/19 rear. New headlights and taillights. New 3” cowl induction hood.
Completely refinished interior. New headliner. New carpet. New leather front and rear seats (black NAPA leather, with white stitching). Momo leather wrapped steering wheel with white stitching. Brand new door cards with new window crank and door handles. Direct-fit autometer gauge dash kit. MTX Audio speakers and amplifier.
Massive SSBC 8-piston front brake kit with Chassis Stops custom 4-piston rear calipers. 14” rotors on both front and rear! Parking brake is electronic. Chrome master-cylinder.
All new components for the fuel system including the fuel tank, aeromotive pump and regulator. Fuel system is good for 800HP.
