This real 442 has a lot to offer. It appears to clean all original metal, the best color combination and performance built driveline. This is not a nut and bolt trailer queen, it's a great looking car to put the top down and go!

EXTERIOR: I am very impressed with the body. It looks to be original rust free metal. No splices in the quarters, bottom door lips are clean. It is laser beam straight, smooth all along the bottoms. I didn't find any blisters or damage. The gaps are square and flush. Repainted it's original Trophy Blue color. The metal flake is uniform, it is polished out nicely. The white stripes are correctly painted on the hood. The bumpers have been rechromed. The rear bumper has the correct openings for the exhaust. The wheels are restored and has new chrome trim on them. It has a power white convertible top in good shape. Windshield is new.

INTERIOR: The white upholstery looks awesome against the blue, not to mention it's cooler then black too. It's not ripped or split, but it's not brand new either. Carpet looks fresh and it has a genuine 442 shifter coming out of the hump. The dash area is very good, it has the rally gauge cluster with the tick tock tachometer.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Professionally built by Rocket Racing. We have a detailed invoice and dyno sheet. It's an Olds 455 bored and stroked to a 468, it makes 516 hp and 514 lbs of torque. Inside it has a billet crankshaft, custom pistons, Eagle h-beam rods, race prepped main bearings, high-volume oil pump etc. The Edelbrock aluminum heads were disassembled and given a street-strip valve job. On top it has an Edelbrock Torker intake with a dual feed Quick Fuel carb with premium fittings, braided fuel lines and a regulator. It also has an MSD ignition system and a set of American Racing headers. Dressed up with a set of finned aluminum valve covers. Hoses were replaced, it has a clutch fan, new shroud and a big aluminum radiator to keep it running cool. The alternator and wiper motor look new, it has a chrome brake booster and also features power steering.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid original metal. I don't see any splices in the quarters or trunk floor.

UNDERSIDE: The front end looks like it's been completely rebuilt. The ball joints, bushings, tie rods, shocks were replaced. In back it has a Hotchkis adjustable rear suspension package. It includes adjustable upper and lower control arms and trailing arm supports. It also has a swaybar and QA-1 gas adjustable shocks. The custom stainless steel exhaust sounds great, it has fat pipes with x-pipe, polished MagnaFlow mufflers and the trumpet tips going throughthe bumper. The brakes were redone, has disc in front, e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it has an extra capacity oil pan and a Powermaster high torque starter. 3,000 miles on rebuilt 4-speed trans, new performance clutch. New drive shaft and U-joints. Heavy duty Ford 9 inch rear with 3.25 posi gears. The floors look to be solid original metal.

This is a great 442 as it sits- solid, great colors and a strong performer. Some detail items like a trunk mat, fresh seatbelts will really bring this car to the next level. Meanwhile drop the top and shift some gears!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.

About Volo Auto Museum

No other collector car dealer has been in business longer than the Volo Auto Museum.  Owned and operated by the Grams family since 1960.  We are the only collector car dealer that has 4 generations of experience with buying, selling and consigning classic autos.  For our family, classic cars are more than a business, it is a passion.  Over the decades, we have maintained a reputation for dealing with integrity as proven with our high reviews and A+ rating with the BBB.

Buying a classic car can be exciting, but also stressful.  We want to take the stress out of your buying experience by allowing you the time and tools you need to get to know the car you are interested in before making your investment, not after.  Unlike auctions, we allow test drives, 3rd party inspections, the use of our shop and car lift.  No reasonable request will be turned down.

Selling a car can be equally stressful, but it doesn't have to be.  After reviewing your quality collector car, we will discuss the options we have available to you and let you decide what works best for you.  We have cash available for immediate sales and we also offer a consignment program that surpasses anyone else's.   Unlike percentage based programs with fees; we work with a no fee, net to owner.  This allows us the opportunity to treat and market your car as if it were our own.  We invest approximately $1500 of our own money into marketing your car, which means if it doesn't sell, we lose, not you.  So, we are more aggressive in selling your car!
