OVERVIEW

 

I am a fan of Trailer Queens. Yep. those “Great Eight” contenders that roll around with plastic wrap on the tires are the highest form of conceptualized automotive art. and I love watching the Master builders ideas come to life in cars that are as close to perfection as you can get.

 

What I REALLY love is the “Driver”. That car that is equal parts looks. reliability. performance. and comfort all wrapped up in one cohesive package that can not only win you a trophy. but DRIVE you to the show you won it at!

 

This incredible 1933 Ford Vicky is the perfect example of such a car. and with just over 1. 00 miles since a recent mechanical refresh complete with new LT-1 Fuel-injected engine and 700R4 transmission. it is ready for another owner to take it on its next Power Tour. AmeriCruise. Route 66 run. cross-country trip. or just simply to the next local car show.

DESCRIPTION

 

 

 

 

More and more. I get calls and customer requests asking for reliable. long-distance capable cruisers that can not only drive to the show. but win a prize once you get to it!

 

This 1933 Ford Vicky is a PERFECT car for that. and has been turning heads. cruising Interstates. and collecting ribbons for over 15 years!

 

The first thing you notice is the body. In a world of severe chops in both fiberglass and steel. the subtle angle and drop of this 1. 5” molded chop sets it apart from the pack. and gives it a great look. PLUS room for fully grown adults to sit in comfort.

 

Built by Supreme Hot Rods. the body features a wood and square tube reinforced body with pre-hung doors and pre-drilled bear claw latches for exceptional fit and finish. A seam welded floor and firewall add strength and cut down on squeaks and noises so common in most rods.

 

The fit is phenomenal. with the doors closing and opening with ease. bear claws engaging with a twist of the fingers. and tight weather sealing.

 

The hood is from SHR as well. and with its scalloped sides and excellent fit. it works perfectly on the car.

 

The hood opens from the driver side. and has a sliding lift arm with lock to position it in any number of places for display or engine cleaning and maintenance.

The body itself appears to be free of stress cracks. dents. and damage. and has fender and running board supports to keep anything from happening in the future as well.

 

The finish on the car is a stunning FORD Toreador Red Metallic finish that was professionally applied and buffed to a glistening perfection.

 

It has been so well taken care of that it still shows glossy. slick. and wet from every angle. and has just a handful or so minor marks like stone chips from being driven and enjoyed for 15 years!

 

I have taken detailed and CLOSE-UP photos of every angle and panel on the car and when you look through the photos below. you will see that it really does show incredibly. and has no major finish issues whatsoever. As a matter of fact. it took home a ribbon for “BEST USE OF SINGLE COLOR” at a show in Jacksonville. FL less than two months ago!

 

The chrome front and rear bumpers are from Speedway. and they look fantastic while being fully functional too!

 

Chrome vintage style FORD headlamps look fantastic. and along with the mini chrome turn signals. came from Speedway as well.

 

Dual chrome lollipop mirrors look killer and you can actually see out them too!

 

Billet wiper arms are unobtrusive. and get the job done in conjunction with a RAIN-X treated windshield.

 

Chrome teardrop tail lights look fantastic. and match the chrome housing for the license plate bracket with integral light. and the chrome surround of the third brake light built into the body.

 

The license area also has two battery charging points you could access if you have a flip-up license plate frame. and then two additional points direct underneath the car as well.

 

The chrome rear bumper looks as good as the front. and has twin chrome exhaust tips peeking out from under it.

 

A chrome anti-theft gas cap rounds out the bright work on the car.

 

This machine rides on a set of American Racing NITRO 15” wheels and BF GOODRICH Radial T/A tires that are all less than 500 miles old!

 

Rims show like new. and so do the tires. and they are sized P255/60R15 in the back and P205/60R15 in the front.

 

The glass on the car is in exceptional condition. and is crack. chip. and damage free with a light smoke tint all around.

 

Finally. vintage style ribbed rubber running board covers are clean and undamaged. and protect the boards below from scuffs and damage.

 

Open the suicide doors on this machine by hitting the button on one of the two included remotes and you are met by a clean and tasteful interior that is the perfect spot to command this Street Rod from.

 

The entire dash is finished off with upholstered and color matched panels that look fantastic. Top of the dash starts the two-tone dark and light gray theme that runs throughout the car. and everything is held in place with deluxe interior finish screws. NOT cheap plastic plugs.

 

From left to right on the dash you see one of three A/C and Heat vents. the a custom cut panel surround filled with VDO Pro gauges for VOLT / OIL PRESSURE / SPEEDO – TRIP – ODOMETER / FUEL / WATER TEMP.

 

All of the gauges appear functional and accurate. although I have not had each one professionally calibrated.

 

Electric wipers are controlled by the top switch on the dash. while parking and headlamps are handled by the lower.

 

Next is the VINTAGE AIR billet control panel. situated over the 2nd of 3 vents. and directly below them is the KENWOOD KDC-4011s AM/FM/CD/MP3 stereo with 40wx4 going into the four 5 3/4 “ round speakers in the cabin. It sounds fantastic. and has a healthy bottom end to help make everything from Patsy Cline to Metallica sound good. Plus. the detachable face plate means it won’t walk away at the shows!

 

Finally. the 3rd climate vent is on the end. and the whole dash has a professional. sanitary look.

 

The GM tilt column has a non-functional cruise arm. with working turn signals. working tilt. and working telescopic adjustment. It is integrated into the dash with a custom fabricated wrap that keeps everything looking neat and tidy.

The custom made floor console houses the LOKAR shifter and a cup holder.

 

Door panels are clean and neat. and carry over the two-tone grey theme. Each side has a chrome trimmed armrest. vintage chrome door pull. stereo door speaker. and modern style switch plates for the power windows.

 

Rear panels are clean and neat. and show like new.

 

The front buckets are super comfortable. and allow plenty of room for taller or bigger drivers and passengers to get settled in. They are clean. neat. and show no rips or tears anywhere. They have curtains to hide the mounting bases to keep the clean lines of the car.

 

The rear bench is in fantastic condition as well. and shows no damage or disrepair.

 

Headliner is matching as well. and the dual front visors sit on either side of the built in billet digital clock.

 

The whole interior is finished. from the A-Pillars to the console. for a clean and professional look.

 

Carpet is a matching gray close-weave laid over a layer of sound and heat proofing material. and it shows very well. with only the lightest signs of wear on the driver side from normal use.

 

Overall. the interior shows very well. and everything in it functions as it should. Look closely at the 27 EXTRA-LARGE interior photos…27? Heck. that’s more than most seller’s take of the WHOLE CAR! It is nice. clean. and ready for you to hop inside and go for a spin!

 

The chassis on the car is custom fabricated unit from Supreme Hot Rods. and it consists of a boxed chassis with integral driveshaft loop. a MUSTANG II front end with power rack and tubular A-Arms and coil springs. a GM 10-Bolt rear with 3. 08 final. 31 spline axles. coil springs and adjustable air shocks in the back with sway bars.

 

After 15 years of being driven and enjoyed. it ain’t pretty. but it sure does drive. handle. and perform great!

 

The car was mechanically and functionally refreshed about 1. 00 miles ago in 2010 after 20. 00 miles of driving. and the old carburetor-equipped 350 and 350 transmission were removed from the car.

 

In its place. a newly built LT-1 Corvette fuel-injected motor built by the LT-1 Masters at STREET & PERFORMANCE was installed along with one of the companies bulletproof 700R4 Performance transmissions. At this time. all of the bushings. bearings. inner & outer tie rod ends. sleeves. pinion seal. new air shocks. alignment. and more was done to the car. since it was easy to get at everything.

 

The engine is exceptionally tuned. and is a perfect match to the transmission. If you check out Street & Performance. you will see that they are the best at LT-1 builds. and this car is no exception.

 

The car fires right up with the turn of the key. idles clean and smooth. and is ready to go whenever you are.

 

Snick the four-speed electronically controlled overdrive transmission into gear. and the car is ready for action!

 

Power is quick and to the point when you want it to be. and the car will lay rubber and scare the squares with the best of them. but if normal driving is more your style. just lightly hit the gas pedal and it is provides the steady and strong feel of driving a big V8 sedan. thanks to a mild shift kit that won’t leave you or your passengers snapping your necks!

 

Just over 1. 00 miles since build and installation means that you don’t need to worry about anything except driving and oil changes for quite some time!

 

It runs super cool. thanks to a modern oversize electrical fan. and even with the A/C on full blast in the 90 degree Florida sun. the car never went over 187 degrees on me.

 

By the way. the air conditioning is SO COLD in this car. that you can hardly stand it on the medium setting. and will rarely use the high speed on the fan because you probably couldn’t take it!  

 

The engine bay itself is clean. neat. and well executed. and it has plenty of chrome and billet bits to attract a crowd a car show.

 

Front disc brakes match up with the rear drum units to provide easy and drama free braking from any speed without excessive fade. pulling. or any other issues.

 

The car cruises at 75mph as good as it does at 30mph. and it can be navigated with one finger on the wheel because the handling is so spot-on and light feeling. My wife enjoyed driving this car as much as me. and she doesn’t say that about most cars with heavier steering feel.

The car rides wonderfully. and the air shocks allow you fine tune your rear suspension for people or cargo to make sure that it stays wonderful!

 

It doesn’t have that wallow to it some cars get. and thanks to the stabilizer bars. it is actually fun to drive in the twisties too!

 

This car has been on two trips over 500 miles each since the refurbishment. and I personally have gone over 75 miles in it and think it’s just a great driver!

 

If you like a car that you can plug in to a battery tender. leave alone for three weeks. and then hop inside for a weekend cruise. this is probably the right one for you. You don’t need to be a mechanic to own it. it can be serviced by practically any area GM dealer or modern repair shop. and it needs nothing but a new owner to drive and enjoy it right now.

 

It comes with one key. two functional remote door popper units. and a free and clear title as a 1998 FORD.
