Exterior Color:

Interior Color:

Body Type:

Transmission:

Turbo 400 Automatic

Engine:

Mileage:

This is a genuine big block documented with original build sheet. It has VIN number match motor and trans. Clean North Carolina car that was frame off restored. The previous spent thousands on the details. It is really dialed in, everything works. He also added the SS 454 trim. A thick pile of receipts are included.

EXTERIOR: The body shows really well. It's a rust free car, straight as an arrow. Bottom of the fenders and doors are real clean, quarters are original. The body gaps are precise even where the hood meets the headlight buckets. Repainted Flame red. It has a very smooth, glossy finish. If you get up close and look for flaws you'll find some minor ones. The chrome and trim is exceptionally nice, a lot of it was replaced recently. Up front the bumper, bumper guards, grill, headlight bezels, hood ornament are beautiful. It even has the moldings under the headlight bezels that are always missing. New remote mirror and the driver side and standard mirror on the passenger side. New rocker moldings. New SS emblems on the rockers and trunk. New SS rear bumper pad, $370. The lenses are excellent, new windshield. Vinyl top looks new. Newer Cobra tires and rally wheels with excellent trim. New weather strips and window seals.

INTERIOR: It is very tidy and detailed. Down on the floor is new carpet and it has SS embroidered floor mats. Premium Legendary upholstery. It fits tight as a drum because there is new cushion in the seat too. Headrests look new. Door panels are mint, has new armrests, window cranks and handles. The headliners is in excellent shape with one tiny hole near the visor. Has complete set of original GM seat belts in real nice shape. In front of me is a pristine dash. The dash pad is mint and has dual speakers. The woodgrain instrument panel is excellent. It has full set of factory gauges with tachometer. The heater control panel is new, all the chrome vents are new. It has an SS steering wheel. Upgraded retro stereo with new speakers in the dash and 6x9s in back with the original style metal grills. It also has factory rear defogger. Everything works, the clock is even ticking. The circuit board was replaced, every bulb is LED. The owner's manual is in the glovebox.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has the original VIN number matching 402 big block motor. The owner put 454 decal on it. Claimed to be rebuilt less than five thousand miles ago, it runs great. The entire compartment is detailed and dialed in. The engine is all stock- manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner assembly, (it even has the heat riser tube going down to the exhaust). Correct carb was professionally restored. New choke assembly and it even has the high idle switch which is always missing. The hoses were replaced. New cadmium plated power brake booster, new master. New wiper motor, squirters are hooked up. New hood insulation. It has a Delco battery topper, new horns, the pollution can is hooked up. Rebuilt air conditioning system blows code, new condenser and updated to R134 freon. Delco ignition with Flame Thrower coil.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Excellent original metal, I did not see any splices. I believe they're the original quarter panels. Very neatly applied gray and white splatter paint. The trunk mat, weatherstrip, stickers and weatherstrip was replaced. A correct trunk light assembly was added with LED bulb. It has a rally wheel for a spare with an original tire. It also has a complete jack assembly. A $350 custom car cover and shop manual are included.

UNDERSIDE: It looks like it's been body off the frame restored. Practically like new underneath. The front end has been rebuilt, i can see all new bushings, shocks, steering box and coupler. It has the F-41 suspension which includes boxed rear control arms and sway bars. The rear suspension is all new. It has air shocks which is what came on the SS. It had a four wheel alignment 1 year ago. The fuel system is new- the tank is shiny, new straps with insulators, new sending unit. New dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and the correct SS cowbell tips. The brake system has been all redone, disc in front. New brake lines, hoses and e-brake cables. Looking up at the motor it is spotless- high performance is cast right on the side of the block. The starter and flywheel cover look new. It has a vin # matching Turbo 400 automatic transmission with correct 1971 tag. Rebuilt with a B&M shift kit. It has the original 12 bolt rear end. The floors on this car are really dry, clean metal painted gloss black. The frame is just as smooth and clean.

This is how you want to buy a collector car- from a guy that spent thousands of dollars getting it dialed in. It is turnkey ready to use and enjoy. Very few collector cars function as good as this one. Not to mention it's a great looker, and a documented #s matching big block!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.

About Volo Auto Museum

No other collector car dealer has been in business longer than the Volo Auto Museum.  Owned and operated by the Grams family since 1960.  We are the only collector car dealer that has 4 generations of experience with buying, selling and consigning classic autos.  For our family, classic cars are more than a business, it is a passion.  Over the decades, we have maintained a reputation for dealing with integrity as proven with our high reviews and A+ rating with the BBB.

Buying a classic car can be exciting, but also stressful.  We want to take the stress out of your buying experience by allowing you the time and tools you need to get to know the car you are interested in before making your investment, not after.  Unlike auctions, we allow test drives, 3rd party inspections, the use of our shop and car lift.  No reasonable request will be turned down.

Selling a car can be equally stressful, but it doesn't have to be.  After reviewing your quality collector car, we will discuss the options we have available to you and let you decide what works best for you.  We have cash available for immediate sales and we also offer a consignment program that surpasses anyone else's.   Unlike percentage based programs with fees; we work with a no fee, net to owner.  This allows us the opportunity to treat and market your car as if it were our own.  We invest approximately $1500 of our own money into marketing your car, which means if it doesn't sell, we lose, not you.  So, we are more aggressive in selling your car!
