Classic Car Addict would like to present this real 1969 Mustang Boss 302 with Marti report in our Mesa, AZ showroom. The Boss 302 Mustang was styled by Larry Shinoda, a former GM employee. He made a lasting impression on the muscled car era. A black horizontal rear window shade and a blackout hood were both options and this one has both. It was one of the first production models with a factory front spoiler. 1 of 1,628 1969 Boss 302's. EXTERIOR This striking 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 is in its factory-ordered Calypso Coral and is accented nicely with brightwork, black matte hood (non-glare), front and rear spoilers, and a C-stripe on each side of the car contains the signature “Boss 302”. Two eye-catching rear design features are the louvered backlight and the rear air spoiler. The non-glare black louvers, over the back window helped to shade rear seat passengers without blacking visibility. The look was completed by Magnum 500 five-spoke wheels. This Boss 302 has had the wheels recently reconditioned but were not painted. INTERIOR Interior in black leather with comfort weave high-back bucket seats, sport deck rear seat, deluxe interior group, AM radio. This Mustang is super clean; no rips, tears or stains can be seen throughout. The 1969 model year restyle added more heft to the body with body length extended by 3.8 inches (97 mm) (the wheelbase remaining at 108 inches), width increased by almost half an inch, and the Mustang's weight went up markedly too. 1969 was the first model to use quad headlamps placed both inside and outside the grille opening. The corralled grille pony was replaced with the pony and tribars logo, set off-center to the drivers side. The car was longer than previous models and sported convex rather than concave side panels. The fastback body version was renamed Sportsroof. POWERTRAIN It has a factory 302ci, 290hp V8 non numbers matching out of another wrecked 69 Boss 302. that puts power to the gears with a 1970 4-speed transmission. This powerful 302 is fun to drive and sounds strong. It has been recently serviced by premier restorations that had a hand in a coupe other mechanical improvements. CHASSIS During development testing, the extra loading transmitted to the chassis by these tires led to front suspension damage on the prototype. The chassis reinforcements that resolved the issue were ultimately added to all Mustangs, thus improving the breed. A high-performance version of the 302-cubic-inch small-block V8 provided the necessary motivation to take advantage of the upgraded chassis. The new wedge chamber cylinder heads on the 302 featured canted valves for improved airflow. DOCUMENTATION/EXTRAS This Mustang comes with a Marti Report.
