This Stunning example was Originally supplied in 1987 by Porsche dealer Auto Zeitz in Bergish Gladbach in Germany. It was then an American, Fred Opert who was a renowned Racing Driver and Team Owner that first Purchased this Turbo to be consigned to DP Motorsport to be Converted into a 935DP Lightweight Slant Nose Turbo. The DP Motorsport Conversion included a Special Interior, Adjustable Turbo Boost, A Large Supercharging Pressure Gauge and the Full 935 Street Conversion known as DP935-1. The DP Conversion took 8 weeks to complete and the only original bodywork that remained original on the car was the roof panel.From 1979 to 1988 DP Motorsport carried out 22 conversions in their factory and supplied a further 26 kits to dealers. However, these kits did not include the full factory treatment the in-house cars received, and some were used for competition (DP935-2).The reason a Porsche Customer would order a top of the range Turbo and have it converted to a 935 by DP Motorsport lies deep in Porsche Motorsport History. The fact that the DP935 was also 80 to 190kgs lighter (depending on options) than a factory converted Slant Nose Turbo and was the only Slant Nose version available with and adjustable Turbo Boost Control.Fred Opert took delivery of the car in December 1987; however, the car was exported two years later back to Europe in 1989 but this time to the UK. Since its arrival in the UK, it has been owned by a succession of investor/collectors.Documentation included a Telefax from the Supplying Dealer confirming the original specification, this confirms that the car was LHD German Supplied in Special order colour Burgundy with Leather Trim, Heated and Adjustable Passenger Door Mirror, Electric Sunroof, Luggage Compartment Trimmed in Black Velour Carpet, Limited Slip Differential, Higher Amperage Battery and Sport Seats with Electric Height Adjustment.Alongside these further options on the DP935-1 included, Front Spoiler with Integrated Footlights and Grill, Slant nose Front Fender Flares, Air Louvres and L/2 Rocker Panels, Inserts for Rocker Panels with DP Logo, Rear Spoiler with Large Grill, DP Outside Rear View Mirror, Large Front Oil Cooler, 8inch Front Rims and 11inch Rear Rims, Front Spacers, Front Axle Reinforcement Bar, Footrest, Stabilizers, Rear Sport Special Shock Absorbers, Front Sport Special Shock Absorber Inserts.Optional Equipment in addition to this included, Alteration Oil Cooler, Third Brake Light Parts and Installation, 200 Miles Speedometer, Leather Centre Console, Leather Covering of Steering Wheel Impact Absorber, Leather Covering of Original Front and rear Seats, Leather Covering of Door Panels, Porsche Emblem, Leather Covering of Knee Parts, Painting of Rocker Panel Inserts, Installation Radar Detection, Painted Wheel Caps, 1 Jack, Shift Bag Leather and Turbo Roll Over Bar.When the car was imported to the UK it was subject to annual MOT testing. The Cars Documentation includes various MOT Certificates; The First Starting in 1992. On each MOT the Mileage is recorded, which is useful to assist in establishing if the overall mileage is genuine. The First MOT recorded 4077 Miles and subsequent MOTs confirm that an average of 585 miles per year were completed in the car.In June 2011 911 & Porsche World Magazine Featured this very rare and special car on the cover with a 959 in an article called "Back to the 80s" a section dedicated to the two cars labelled the ultimate 80s pinups.
