Here at JK Classics we are proud to offer this stunning 1973 Ford Capri 1300L MKI Facelift. After a full nut and bolt restoration we are happy to claim you will be hard pressed to find a better example of this LeMan green Capri on the market today. After arriving to us in a sorry state we took the decision to fully strip and blast the body, leaving us a mountain of welding and repairs but ensuring we had a totally rust free base to work with. While undergoing weld & body work we stripped and rebuilt the 2 litre Pinto engine that had been fitted by the previous owner by a local classic Ford specialist (Capri Gear of Market Rasen) and fitted a new Weber carburettor, which was matched with a type 9 5-speed manual gearbox to provide a more comfortable and user friendly drive. As the previous owner had gone with a 2 litre Pinto and 5-speed box the decision he made was to also fit a 1600 rear axle and diff to complement the set up, which we can only agree with and therefore stripped and rebuilt. As you can expect we replaced all brakes and suspension components while all chrome work was away being re-chromed. The head lamp units proved impossible to replace so the originals were sent for re-silvering and repair. All chrome trims that were available were purchased while original chrome trims that were not available were refurbished. The rare rear bench seat with 2 dial dash interior has undergone a complete re-upholstery and now looks as good as the day the car came off the production line, while the vinyl roof was also stripped and re-covered. We took the decision to finish the car with 13" Laser/RS wheels paired with ContiSport tyres that complement the new LeMans green coat with black pin stripe and leave a car that has to be seen to be believed.
