EXTERIOR
This attractive facelift M3 has clearly led a pampered life since new. The paintwork is in excellent condition with a smooth finish and a deep glossy shine throughout. Looking along both sides the car remains arrow-straight, the only real negatives to report being one or two discreet marks low down at the front end. None of the trims or rubber seals are showing any wear and all the lights are still nice and clear. The car also comes equipped with the rare hardtop option, perfect for those chillier winter months. The black fabric soft-top still looks pristine and operates smoothly at the touch of a button.

INTERIOR
The supple black Nappa upholstery shows almost no wear to the bolsters and remains feeling very soft to the touch. The dash and door cards are also in excellent condition, and the steering wheel leather retains a great texture. In the footwells the carpets are perfectly clean and protected by a set of BMW overmats. The boot area is also free from any unsightly marks or scratches where larger items have been loaded. The list of factory cost options includes heated and electrically adjustable front seats, Harman/Kardon sound system with CD changer, widescreen satnav, rear parking sensors, and the multifunction steering wheel with cruise control.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The S54 is an iconic six-cylinder powerplant revving to 8,000rpm with an intoxicating 'rasp' at higher revs. This M3 is equipped with BMW's Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG II) that ensures an ultra-fast shift through all six gears, providing a direct and consistent flow of power at all engine speeds. The mechanical condition of this E46 is excellent; the last service was an Inspection I carried out by Walkers BMW specialists at 44,779 miles.

WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The M3 sits on its original 18-inch M Double-Spoke II alloys, all in excellent condition having previously been refurbished in a darker shade of anthracite. They are shod in a matching set of Falken tyres with at least 6mm of tread remaining throughout. The brakes have also been checked and remain in fine operational condition, the pads and discs having all been replaced at 39k miles. 4-wheel alignment has just been carried out at the current mileage.

HISTORY FILE
This low mileage facelift M3 was first registered in March 2003. All handbooks are present in the original leather document pack and a spare remote key is included. The last service was an Inspection I carried out in July 2020 at 44k miles. More recent works include 4-wheel alignment and professional reinforcement of the boot floor/subframe area (a notorious E46 weak spot). All in all, an excellent example of the fast-appreciating and highly sought after E46 M3.
