Ford Model A 1931 Tudor Sedan. 2687cc . lat 4 engine. eige and brown.

My 1931 Model A . eft hand drive. First reg 1931 in Arizona and brought to England 1989. Vehicle currently in use with current M. O. T  and tax although this now has free M. O. T and tax.

Never had welding to chassis. ovely straight vehicle in need of some paintwork as paint work has some crazing to mudguards. Just in need of TLC. Interior is good with original seats and coverings. Chrome work is good and has also had indicators fitted for safety but are in keeping with the vehicle appearance . Engine and gearbox are both strong and has had a new diff fitted and rewired to 12 volt. A list follows of work done costing over £6000 this was done before i purchased the vehicle.

Car would not start: Distributor Cap removed and found  rotor arm not turning. loser inspection it was the distributor  that was seized/Teeth had been stripped off of the main drive. Replaced drive and the shaft. nseized the distributor but petrol would not go through the petrol tank. temporary can feed  to start it put in place.

Petrol was blocked on the fuel line. emoved petrol tank. team cleaned ot out . ainted the face of the tank and put it back on the car. Shortened petrolp pipe from the tap to carburetor. /excess copper pipe on it was restricting the flow of petrol. Engine drained of oil/engine flushed/replaced with new oil. team cleaned engine.

Cleaned and painted firewll. While engine was stripped down it was painted with Ford engine green. New exhaust manifold and bolts. Replaced air-screw . loat cut - out sensor. ets choke adjustment kit and linkage on carb. ngine sediment bowl cleaned. Petrol gauge float on fuel tank with relevant kit replacement was put in place.

Water pump was stripped out and studs. new shaft. an blade. an belt. ater pump kit. ew hoses and pipes were replaced. New drain tap on Rdiator. Sprung loaded bolts to hold radiator were also replaced. Car was rewired with a new harness. fitted with a safety cut out switch. attery leads  (made). ew battery. ew clamps. afety light strip fuse switch. eadlight. eadlight holder. ear light bulb holders. Glasses changed. ew indicators. ndicator brackets. ew indicator arm switch. ew wiper motor. Windscreen had to be screwed in as wood above the window had rotted. rivett type nuts sets it back in place. Cut out box upgraded to 12v(diode). New complete distributor fitted . New steering arm fitted (pitman arm)

Bulbs changed from 6v to 12 v. ooter replaced with small horn under bonnet. Brakes taken apart. rums cleaned and refitted. rakes adjusted ready for M. O. T . There were no rear shocks on this acr so a pair of replacement shocks were made from Morris Minor shocks with a Ford model A dog bone linkage kit.

Car went for an M. O. T and passed.

In top gear axle jammed and locked. removed the axle. ubs and rear brakes. ook prop shaft down with axle. tripped axle out. Washed all casing and spider gears . ound pinion had broken a tooth which had jammed in crown wheel causing it to lock. A brand new crown wheel and pinion fitted. eplaced all new bearings and oil seals. Reassembled axle. ubs and rear brakes. vehicle then drove well.

Vinyl roof needs to be replaced  as small tear at front. nd timber around windscreen needs to be done . Paintwork in shade differs slightly on some panels but generally just needs some TLC.

vehicle inspection prior to auction end is recomended and can be arranged 07789 140553 Malcolm but please do not call after 9pm.   Vehicle is advertised elsewhere.
