1966 Sunbeam Tiger Mk 1A for sale
Current customer rating: (484 votes ) based on1966 Sunbeam Tiger Mark 1A w/400 HP 347 Stroker motor
Authentic Sunbeam Tiger owned since 1988. Mechanically sorted out. but might need a little cosmetic work. Looks OK. goes like stink. more of a driver than a show car. but could easily be spruced up to show quality with new paint and some new interior pieces. or. just drive it and enjoy. and don't worry about parking at the supermarket.
No rust. body is straight. Car was painted red in the ‘80's over factory forest green with incomplete prep. so is peeling in places. and was never buffed. Paint has some cracks. chips. and dull areas. Interior vinyl has come unglued at dash and rear quarters. Some vinyl was replaced in the 90's. (seats. doors. soft top. soft top cover. console. etc. ) and some original (front and rear roll pads). Carpets not glued down. New walnut dash. windshield. rubber parts and many other parts in 90's. Fresh Ford Racing 400HP 347 stroker engine in 2006. but only a few hundred miles since then. For comparison. the original 260 engine put out 164 HP. the Mk II 289 made 200 HP. A friend's identically built engine dyno'd at 415HP at the crank. This is a very fast car. and handles surprisingly well. due in part to the 335 lb. springs and 1” sway bar. Never raced or abused. Soft and hard tops. Some extra and original parts. all receipts. plus Rootes Workshop Manual. and CAT shop notes. Car is in NCM Registry and has STOA Certificate of Authenticity. TAC #0949.
Car is in Seattle area and can be inspected by serious buyers by appointment. I strongly suggest you or a representative inspect the vehicle prior to the auction ending. Inspection fees if any are Buyers responsibility.
