My pride & joy British Leyland Mini 1000 1974 M Reg
Where do I start? Bought the Mini 4 years ago with a full MOT & only 3 owners from new with 58. 00 miles & all old paperwork to prove including original bill of sale & all old M. O. T's. Was tired in the usual places. but had not been messed about with and was original. A full restoration was decided. stripped every panel off back to a bare shell. new inner wheel arches. new wings & front panel & bonnet. front windscreen scuttle & A/Panels all replaced genuine Heritage panels. Doors only minor repairs need (were like new). Sills & front floor pans replaced & small repair to boot floor corner. All paint stripped & any minor repairs done. Had 5 coats of 2k primer. flatted off then 5 coats of original Teal Blue with White roof. Inside & out painted. engine bay & boot as well. Rear sub-frame was new so re-painted and refurbished. Has had new radius arms. shoes. cylinders. cables. brake pipes & shocks. Front sub-frame stripped & new ball joints. wheel bearings & gaitors. Engine was sourced & replaced with a 1300 GT from a 1970 Austen 1300 GT for a bit more power. This was stripped right down. cleaned & re-painted black. New piston rings. crank shells. oil pump & timiny chain also. Had re-built & skimmed valves. Re-assembled new gaskets & seals. Gearbox checked over. was perfect. New clutch fitted. new coolant hoses and an electronic distributor fitted with a Hif4 carburetter. All interior re-trimmed in black vinyl & door cards re-trimmed. New carpet in black & new headlining fitted. Also new inertia seat belts. Fitted with Mini-lite wheels. to look period & add style. New rear lights & new halogen front lights. All chrome trim replaced with new grill. wipers etc. Then new M. O. T.
This Mini is like brand new. wants for nothing & turns many heads. Concourse condition. better than money in the bank. Genuine enquiries only. House move forces sale.
