1946 Chevrolet 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck

Welcome to the sale of my lovely 1946 1/2 ton pickup Truck
Appropriately Known as the Art Deco Model

It has the original 3500cc straight six petrol engine
 
Time has come to part with my Truck. br>I have had years of fun with this vehicle and will be sorry to see it go. but there are more projects in the pipeline!
Absolutely Original not been messed with. just looked after and waxoiled.
I had some work done a couple of years ago. all new brake pipes and shoes. master and wheel cylinders. nbsp; wheel bearings. seals. hoses and all sorts of other items just to make it reliable and able to use everyday. br>I have used it regular and it has not let me down. just fitted a brand new battery. still 6 volt. new battery cables and serviced the starter. and it starts on the button. no probs.
The chassis. springs. axle and all the running gear is like new. it has to be seen to be believed!
The bodywork is very solid. complete with some crude authentic welds and creases etc.
It has a lovely Patina which I just coat with Waxoil occasionally.
The pickup bed is the original timber with a few bumps and bruises. but solid.
 Everthing works as it should although the heater matrix has been removed. but these can be got. as indeed everthing else for these trucks is available from the US. resonably priced and usually very quick shipping
The rear glass is cracked. but I would leave that. as it looks the part.
The buyer could just jump in and drive away. but if you are going any distance I would trailer it. but only because its a bit noisy and chilly this time of year
Also just noticed when its cold. sounds like the clutch thrust bearing wants sorting. but when the engine warms its quite. no big job.
Good oil pressure and uses no oil or water
Cheap classic insurance. £60 a year fully comp. and of course no tax or MOT required
Don`t expect perfection though. this is after all 67 years old!
I would not have any hesitation in jumping in it and driving anywhere. br>Ideally it could do with a little more attention. such as door window seals and maybe a carpet and other bits and pieces. all fun stuff!
Just remembered I do have the chrome hub caps. but forgot to put them on for the photos. they go with the truck of course
