Description: A multi-year build by a longtime enthusiast and good friend of ours.

As a kid. our buddy's heroes were the legendary Hayden Proffitt. Don Nicholson and Bill “Grumpy”Jenkins. These men drag raced the 1961 Biscayne in NHRA Super Stock and became nationally famous.

The Biscayne's were chosen by knowledgeable racers as the lightest. and thus quickest. cars with the biggest available engines in “stock” form. Stripped of even cigarette lighters. and stuffed with highly tuned tri-power 348 C. I. engines. these lowly Biscayne's became terrors of the drag strip.

This car started life as  the barest. cheapest full size Chevrolet you could buy. It was likely driven to death by a Bell Telephone repair man or a Public Works director. Perhaps even a small town parson. With a thrifty six and a three on the tree. this car was a reliable if boring way to work every day.

The survival rate of these hard working business coupes is low. After an extensive search for “the right car”. this car was located and stripped down to the bones and restored to what you see here. Powerful and fun to drive. this car embodies tasteful modern updates and overdrive with a street racers rake and a deep rumble of a legendary American V-8.
