The 1967 Camaro convertible I resurrected for the Camaro Restoration Handbook is now available for sale. As illustrated and documented throughout the book. this Camaro has undergone a complete rotisserie restoration. Lovingly restored with mostly GM parts (new and NOS). my Camaro was restored with the intention to never sell it. But times change and I must reluctantly let her go.
I finished the majority of the restoration 20 years ago and only drove the car on sunny days and kept her in a heated garage during the winter. I recently completed the finishing touches on her. along with some repairs as well; replacing the rear main seal. oil pan gasket. rebuilding the transmission and replacing the flywheel. clutch assembly and power steering pump.
I used two cars to build this one; one car provided the body and subframe and another provided the drive train and interior. This car was originally a non-Rally Sport car. but I really wanted the cleaner look that. to me. the Rally Sport package provides. so I converted her to RS specifications using GM parts (other than the headlight motors. ) The vast majority of the parts used to restore this car were new. The rest were reconditioned. I took extra care to keep the car as original as possible. even down to the inspection number on the firewall.
The non numbers-matching car is equipped as follows:
327 cu. In. 275 HP totally rebuilt. The only non-stock item in the engine is a Crane Economaster cam. The left-hand exhaust manifold is original. the right-hand exhaust manifold is a GM service replacement part.

The car is a non-stock color. It looks blue head-on. but from the side has a violet cast. As you can see from the pictures. the underside is very clean. the body is super straight and the lacquer paint is smooth and shiny. The paint has five small defects from the buffing process. There is a small leak at the pinion shaft seal. No. the car isn't 100% perfect in every respect. but everything on the car works. The car starts. runs and drives like it just rolled off the assembly line. You'd be hard pressed to find a '67 Camaro this nice that isn't a trailer queen.
Please note that this is the 1st generation Camaro ('67-69) that's featured undergoing a rotisserie restoration in the Camaro Restoration Handbook. The 1st generation Camaro on the cover of the book is a '68 and was used only for illustrating the cover.
