I have for sale a 1928 Chevrolet Imperial Landau four-door sedan. The car is in very nice shape and would make an excellent restoration project or a driver that would be fun taking to cruise night. The body is virtually rust free with some small bubbles starting to show up around the rear edge of the top. The frame is in nice shape for an 85-year-old car. The car appears to have been repainted once during its life and the cream-colored trim around the windows and the accent stripes seem to have been done by someone with a shakey hand. The door window glass is in nice condition. The rear window has been replaced with a piece of Plexiglass. The front windshield has two cracks in it. The glass could easily be replaced. but there is an Iowa inspection sticker from 1945 affixed to the windshield and it would be a shame to lose that by replacing the windshield. The windshield has a crank handle and the glass raises about an inch offering some fresh air ventilation for the interior. The rear window has a pull-down shade. The body does have a few dings in it and a couple spots of surface rust where the paint has chipped off. The interior appears to be all original except for the headliner. which apparently was changed when the new roof was put on. The front door panels are in rough shape but the rear ones aren't too bad. Actually. the upholstery looks pretty good considering its age. There is a grab rail and foot rail for the rear seat passengers. The four-cylinder engine has been rebuilt and runs great. The previous owner said that the carburetor has been replaced and he wasn't sure what it originally came from. The previous owner said the gas tank was cleaned not too long ago. Looking under the car you can see that a new fuel line has been run from the tank to the carburetor with an electric fuel pump in the line. Whoever installed the fuel line apparently did not have a tube bender so it's not the neatest installation. but it works well and you don't see it unless you are under the car. The clutch and transmission seem fine. There is some leakage from the driveshaft behind the transmission and it appears one rear axle seal is leaking. The emergency brake works well. but the regular mechanical brakes need further adjustment. My son and I have attempted some adjustments. according to the shop manual. but more time and effort need to be put into the brakes. This is our first experience with mechanical brakes and we didn't get it right. The brake system needs more attention to make the car a dependable driver in traffic. There is a strange hole in the firewall. I think someone at some point tried to install a heater in the car and cut a hole for it. The tires are in nice shape. The front doors open as usual and the rear doors are hinged in the "suicide" fashion. All door handles and window roller handles worked fine when I got the car but just the other day the outside handle on the passenger rear door stopped working. The door can still be opened from the inside. The Chevy comes with a sevice manual and a new owner's instruction booklet. With the brakes sorted out this would be a fun driver. or you can make it your father and son project.

The car has a clear North Dakota title. The Chevrolet is offered without any warranty or promises. It is sold as is. Buyer must handle shipping of the vehicle.
