This 1973 Datsun 240Z is a three-owner example powered by an L24 inline-six mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. It is believed that the original owner was a traveling salesman and added 400k miles up through 1999. The seller acquired the car from the second owner at auction about a year ago and has added 5k miles since. Modifications include Weber DGV carburetors. an aftermarket head unit. and Enkei wheels. Mileage and service records start in 1991. while receipts date back to 1981. This 240Z is now being offered with its original carburetors and air cleaner. a hand-written mileage log. California blue plates. and a clean Texas title.
The car was repainted in 2003 with windows and glass removed. Rubber seals were also replaced. and the seller states that there is no evidence of prior accidents.  Paint chips are present in the finish and small dents are located on the driver's door and at the rear corner of the vehicle.
The car is an original rust free example from Auburn California. All panels are original and haven't been placed. Rust can be found on the trim pieces are the door plates on both sides. But is on the trim only.
Enkei wheels are wrapped in older tires that should be replaced. The center cap is missing from the right rear. Wheels installed in 1984 and still have the original receipt.
The butterscotch interior appears intact. with some cracking evident on the dash pad and surface corrosion on the 3-spoke steering wheel and door trim. Door panels have been cut to house aftermarket speakers.
A Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD head unit was added below the climate controls. and the antenna does not function. The A/C is said to work. but the clock and windshield washer pump do not. The 5-digit odometer shows 47k miles. though it is believed to have rolled over four times before 1999.
Under the hood. the 2. 4L inline-six was fitted with Weber DGV carburetors. though the original units are included in the sale. The brake booster has a vacuum leak. but a replacement item is also included. An included logbook shows a theft occurring in 1991 that resulted in the replacement of the throwout bearing. clutch. transmission seal. main seal. some of the exhaust. and resurfacing the flywheel.
Some scrapes and dents are noted underneath the car. and several angles of the undercarriage are viewable in the gallery.
A hand-written log of fuel fill ups and services begins on 5/2/91 at 270. 60 miles following the theft of the vehicle and loss of the previous book. and ends in April 2006 at 432. 48 miles. Receipts dating to 1981 and are included along with the original California blue plates.
I have done my best to cover all the bases as to what the car is and how truly awesome it is. Only reason I am selling is that I recently lost my job and need the funds to keep the lights on. This car can be driven daily. to events. or tack days. The AC still blows cold!
Recently completed a compression test. all cylinders were within 3psi. Here is a video of it running: https://youtu. be/dkIJh1pzMGg
