Attached you'll find pictures and a video of my 1942 ford ½ ton pickup truck.  (it is a bit dusty in the picture but it has been shop kept all its life) These were only made from November 1st 1941 – February 10th 1942 at the start of the war. The government shut ford down and commissioned them to build tanks for the U. S. entry of the war. Of what was built. 2/3rd of the trucks which originally had 239 flat head v8 engines were bought by the U. S. government and commissioned into military personal vehicles. The other 1/3. civilian models. like you see here. originally had 221s. This really is quite the rarity. and you can hardly ever find one for sale.

This truck originally belonged to my mothers co workers husband who developed cancer and died. After over a decade. she has since been remarried and decided it was time to just let go. I'm a 16 year old kid. and I bought it because I'm into classics. however. I need money so I can attend Wyotech text year. and my shop is just too cluttered.  And honestly. It attracts more middle aged men than teenage girls. I know I'll never find another one and that's why it kills me so much to sell it. I have 2 pictures of the truck pre-restoration to send with the buyer. I know you probably don't care about all this so I'll get down to the specs.

Engine: ford 289 from a '67 mustang. takes a while to warm up. but runs smooth when it does. Attached is a video of it running. and I think you'll agree it sounds pretty nice. I have never topped it out. but I did push it to 100 once with no problem before I backed off.   It has a small problem staying running while changing gears. so I usually just start it in gear. That fact has been taken into account on the reserve. It is a 3 speed automatic. but you have to manually move the shifter up and down in gears. It presently has a GM style aftermarket distributer because it was half the price of a ford. and as a high school kid. after buying the truck. needless to say I'm on a budget. It has a 2 core radiator and an electric fan on the other side to help it out a bit.    It has an 8” ford rear end. Tires are still nice. and the rims are chrome. It has a working emergency break. Cosmetically it's pretty sound. There are a few scratches and chips here and there. No dents however. There's no bondo on it. and only minor body work to be done here and there. NO RUST ANYWHERE. The grill has some dings and chips and could probably be replaced if you're a perfectionist. If you're going to make it a show car. it should probably be re-wired. could use new glass. seals. and be re-upholstered. However all these (with the exception of the seals. Those need replaced) work just fine as they are. and look nice.   At present it doesn't have a driver's side door glass because it was cracked when I purchased it so I just removed it. However I could put it back in if you like. The gears are in good condition and the windows roll up and down with ease. If you are interested I also have the glove box door and can easily re-attach it in place of my present deck. I thought about putting an original engine in it but I couldn't afford one. and the clutch pedal was hacked off the frame above the joint with a torch by a previous owner. With a few hours work it could be replaced. It has the original dash gauges as well. however. they are not presently operational. There is a windshield wiper motor under the dash. but it isn't hooked up because honestly. who would drive this in the rain? The hood hangs a bit crooked because the springs are shot. An extra set of gauges shown in the pictures are operational. The odometer works. It has a 10 gallon gas tank under the seat. It has chrome tailgate latches but is missing the chains. It has a wood bed. but could be redone if you're a perfectionist. However I think it looks fine how it is. The engine is painted purple to match the truck. Chrome valve covers. bolts. and air cleaner top. Obviously there's no A/C. but if you pull a lever under the dash a small door opens o the front above the hood to let air in as you drive. So that's kind of cool. Clear title in hand. The vin is visible on the front drivers side frame rail.

The following is a list of things that I have done to it in the last year.

Addition of seat belts

45 miles since last penzoil oil change

New front brakes (rears still good)

All new wheel cylinders and Master

All new brake lines

New water pump

New carb

New starter

New intake manifold gasket set

Electric fan added

Coolant flush

Transmission flush

New battery

New Starter soleniod

New distributer. spark plugs. and cables

New valve cover gaskets

New speakers

New deck

New chrome exhaust

Addition of headlights. brake lights. turn signals. etc.

Although I did install a new carb. it was a remanufactured part. and could be replaced if you're one of those "All New Guys. "

This is a very rare and sought after pickup by enthusiasts of all kinds. However. it is priced to sell. A pristine truck of this caliber would cost you roughly $35. 00. I have taken into account all expenses needed to make it worth that. and deducted them from my reserve. and allowed for a nice profit worth your time if you are in the market to buy and resale. I'm only looking to break even what I bought it for. Everything else I have into it is my gift to you. That being said. my reserve is fair for both sides of the transaction. and it shouldn't have any problem selling here. or after if you so choose to resell the truck.

Message me if you like.  I'm happy to answer any questions you have. I can also send pictures of any desired area.

Thank you
