1977 BMW 320i - excellent condition for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.5) based on 373 votes

For sale is my 1977 320i. which I have owned for 4 years.  I am the 3rd owner - originally purchased new in Ohio by a dad that owned it for 2 years and then gave it to his daughter. from whom I purchased it.

The car is in excellent condition and has always been garaged. well maintained. and not driven in the winter. The engine runs well and the transmission shifts smoothly. It is a joy to drive and looks sharp. always drawing lots of compliments. The body is in excellent condition and there is no rust - some minor surface rust on the under carriage that is easily dealt with. nothing structural and no bondo anywhere! The interior is in very good condition - original carpet and seats. which could use some re-stuffing but there are no rips or tears. newer Blaupunkt radio and speakers with cd player.

According to the previous owner. the hood. front panels. and radiator were replaced with OE parts in 1991 when the car rolled down the driveway and into a small tree. The engine bay and inside trunk were rust proofed. which never dried completely and was still very tacky.  I painstakingly removed the interior trunk and engine bay rustproofing last summer with 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner - revealing like new condition - there are still some remnants of the rust proofing. The car had a long whip antenna when I acquired it and I replaced that with a stock antenna from BMW. Some non-stock wiring was done to accommodate a radar detector and the stereo. I replaced the thermostat last year and the starter motor and blower motor the year before. The head gasket was recently replaced and the valves adjusted. It needs a new heater control valve. which I have but have not installed yet. The car has been worked on by Little Foreign Car Garage in Waltham. Massachusetts.
