[total 130. 00 miles on the working six-digit odometer!]. Recently acquired by our dealership. this gem sports the 134 horsepower inline four cylinder M20 engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock. This "MINI-M3" sports 14" factory "is" mesh alloy wheels with good rubber. multi-adjustable factory sport seats. driver side airbag. nbsp;electric windows. nbsp;air conditioning. manual crank sunroof and the original working am/fm/cassette stereo.

THE BODY AND TRIM
The exterior of this car is in very good to excellent. nbsp;99% rust-free mostly all original condition overall. The paint has a very nice lustrous glossy finish with a few imperfections one would expect of a low-mileage 23 year-old car. They include a slightly off-color right fender clear-coat blend issue. some light rock chips on the hood. and some fading on the rear decklid spoiler. Overall this is a VERY presentable and still VERY handsome example of this marque.  PLEASE NOTE: while it is not shown in the main photos here. the bottom spoiler lip IS in fact now installed on the car.  

THE INTERIOR
The interior of this 318is is in excellent SUPER ORIGINAL condition overall! It sports a PRISTINE. crack-free dash. excellent uncut door panels. clean and very comfortable Recaro "pleather" sport seats. nice original headliner and rear deck. beautiful original loop carpeting and a nice smooth sliding crank sunroof. ALL of the gauges and controls work as they should! Even the original stereo works great with the cool fingertip led sliders for bass. treble. fader and balance controls [see photo link]. There are a few minor imperctions that include small peeling away area and some wear on the side bolster of the driver seat. Overall this is a super clean amazingly original example of a 20+ year-old E30 318is!

THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This classic BMW starts. runs and drives very well overall. With barely triple-digit horsepower on tap [134 ponies and 126 pounds of torque to be exact]. it certainly will not keep up with a new M3 though revs smoothly and willingly to redline in all the gears [I've done all but 5th!] The shifting is buttery smooth and light to the touch free of any up or downshift grinds. braking is straight and solid with good pedal feel. the suspension is tight. quiet and supple with excellent light and responsive steering feel. quiet exhaust and nice open airy cockpit. And for the gas misers. this car will hover at 30 $miles per gallon on the open road! For about 25% of the cost of a similar M3 this classic 318is is a truly satisfying car to motor down the open road!
