This highly unusual 356 A was owned by a California Librarian for most of it's life and was in storage for past several years . I fell in love with" Patina look " the car was in incredible original condition . original floor boards and battery box . it had some primer on thin spots on paint work so I stripped it down to bare metal . repainted it in Light Ivory then reapplied faux rust to the near perfect body . then clear coated the entire body in flat clear . I put in all new exterior rubber seals . replaced cracked windshield . treated all the pans with POR 15 . nbsp;dyna mat and put original threadbare carpet back in . dash and steering wheel are as original . I powder coated wheels then reapplied faux rust . replaced all the aluminum trim . used all the original chrome to preserve the barn look . This car at the SVRA race at Watkins Glen was photographed by over 2. 00 people in 4 days and was picked as most "popular car " out of 3500 cars on display . Was also fined by three production companies and was surrounded by "fans" for 4 days . It had met with similar accolades at other venues . I have several restored concours 356's and 911's and this by far gets the most attention . I will grant it is not for everyone .  It has high bar overriders and steel bumpers

Mechanically I completely rebuilt every thing and I mean everything . the engine is an overbore build 912 by the experts at the 901 shop to 2 liters with 40MM webers and stock appearing air cleaners at a cost of over 20K but worth every penny   . incredible power. torque and so smooth . has about 4K on it . gear box has about 1500 miles on it . car has CSP german wide pattern disc brakes on front . drums on rear . all new suspension. bushings. shocks . motor mounts . handles like very few 356's . very fast . ight and a rear sleeper . Will cruise all day at 75 MPH PLUS . all gauges converted to 12 V LED by Palo Alto including a 904 style multi gauge . I replaced headliner when I put in new seals and window trim . Has a stock appearing Leonard Turnbogh alternator that looks like a original generator .
I am selling to fund my next 356 outlaw and my 911 powered single cab truck . I have invested heavily in this car and no short cuts to preserve the "barn find " look while making it the best running/ handling 356 . I love it but I don't need 4 356's and new one is very wild creation . you will love this car if you see stand drive it .  This car is loaded with original brochures. very rare literature. receipts from prior owner . tool kit. jack etc . also has blue tooth hidden from sight  a rare last year "A" coupe . best of the breed and appreciating rapidly
